US claim: More than 2,000 children abducted from Donetsk and Lugansk

The embassy quoted the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry as saying that the group of children in the disputed Donbass region had “left illegally,” IRNA reported, citing the Sky News website.
The embassy claimed that scandalous forces had evacuated thousands of children and transferred them to Russia.
The US embassy in Kiev tweeted the allegation: “This is not help, this is kidnapping.
The Mariupol city council has previously accused Russian forces of forcibly evicting several thousand people from the besieged city of Mariupol.
Sky News wrote that the media could not independently confirm the news.
Linda Thomas Greenfield, the US ambassador to the United Nations, said the charge of expelling people from Mariupol was “worrying” and “unconscionable” if true.
“I have only heard the news and I can not confirm it,” he told CNN. This is not a matter of conscience if Russia forcibly transferred Ukrainian citizens to Russia and placed them in prison camps.
