US State Department: Washington is worried about the relations between Iran and Russia – Mehr news agency Iran and world’s news

Referring to Washington’s concern about the deepening of relations between Iran and Russia, US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman said that the US will monitor Moscow’s missile production in this country and impose sanctions.

Sherman, along with Colin Call, the Pentagon’s political deputy, answered questions among reporters at the media center of the Ukrainian National News Agency (Ukraineform).

Colin claimed that Russia continues to turn to Iran and North Korea because it faces a severe shortage of missile and drone capabilities.

He claimed in Adame: To be frank, the fact that Russia has resorted to Iran and North Korea shows Moscow’s desperation. On drones, I think Iran and Russia will deepen their relationship as Moscow increasingly needs help from other countries to make up for its own weapons shortages.

Referring to America’s concern about this deepening of relations, Sherman said that Washington will monitor Russian missile production in Moscow and impose more sanctions.

Also, Jonathan Finer, the deputy national security adviser of the White House, said that the American approach is not only based on sanctions, but also includes measures in the field of export control in order to limit Russia’s ability to threaten not only Ukraine but other neighboring countries.

These claims have been made while both Iran and Russia have repeatedly denied sending drones from Tehran to Moscow for use in the Ukraine war, and Tehran has described these accusations as an excuse for America and the West to justify their military and civilian aid to Ukraine.
