Vienna Talks | Germany did not come and called for a “quick agreement”

According to Fars News Agency’s International Group, the German Foreign Ministry in a message on Twitter resumed talks on lifting sanctions on Iran in Vienna, Austria.

The German Foreign Ministry wrote on its Twitter page: “European Troika negotiators have returned to Vienna for talks on the Comprehensive Joint Action Plan (CJAP). We are now in the final stages. “A diplomatic solution is possible, but we need to reach decisions quickly.”

On the eve of the resumption of the eighth round of Vienna talks on the lifting of unilateral sanctions against Iran, a US State Department spokesman also stated that an agreement could be reached with Iran on the issue of its nuclear program, but due to the development of Iran’s nuclear capabilities, it should be finalized as soon as possible. Be.

Western diplomats have been trying to pressure the Iranian team to agree to their demands since December 28, when the first round of sanctions talks began under the government of Seyyed Ibrahim Ra’isi.

However, Iran’s representatives in the Vienna talks have stated that the outcome is more important for Tehran than time. Tehran is trying to move Borjam, which from the first days of its implementation into an agreement devoid of economic interests for the Iranian side due to some US and Western policies, to a bilateral and balanced agreement.

Former United States President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew from the Security Council in 2018, imposing sanctions aimed at putting pressure on Iran, forcing Iran to take steps to address the issue after a year of adherence to the Security Council. Reduction of Barjami’s obligations under this agreement.

Officials in the West, especially the United States, have always tried to pretend in the media that the progress of the nuclear talks depends on Iran’s actions since the start of the sanctions talks in Vienna.

“The answers that the United States will bring to Vienna tomorrow will determine when we can reach an agreement,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said yesterday (Monday) regarding the resumption of the Vienna talks. “We have made significant progress in various areas of the Vienna talks, including assurances that Iran will seek to ensure that the new US administration does not violate the agreement once again.”

The current US administration, led by Joe Biden, claims that it intends to pave the way for its country to return to the BRICS nuclear deal through ongoing talks in the Austrian capital, Vienna. So far, eight rounds of talks have been held in Vienna between Iran and the P5 + 1 on the one hand, and the United States and the P5 + 1 on the other.

The Biden administration has continued its policy of maximum pressure on the Trump administration

The US government has so far refused to take the necessary steps to return to the UN Security Council, and has in fact continued the previous administration’s policy of “maximum pressure” against Iran. Instead, the Biden government has tried to throw the ball of decision-making in the Vienna talks into Iran by maneuvering on some dramatic moves.

One of the latest steps taken by the United States to this end is the resumption of sanctions waivers related to peaceful cooperation with Iran’s nuclear program. The exemptions were lifted during the previous US presidency, but observers and analysts say their return could not be considered a privilege because it does not involve economic benefits for Iran.

“The purpose of these exemptions is not to provide money for Iran … The fact is that if we are at a point where we want to return to mutual adherence to the UN Security Council,” Ned Price told a news conference Monday evening. These exemptions will be necessary to take steps that make Iran’s nuclear program less risky. “Even if we can not return to mutual commitment, these steps are still in our interests.”

“If we want to reach an agreement on mutual adherence to the UN Security Council, this step (issuing sanctions exemptions) will help us,” he added.

The Vienna talks are being resumed as Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said in anticipation of the forthcoming talks in Vienna: Mr. Mora we exchanged focus. “In reviewing the latest texts from the Vienna talks, parts of our demands in the area of lifting sanctions have not yet been addressed.”

End of message.
