“Our trip to Mazandaran ended today with this rail visit, and at the end of this trip, I would like to send a message to all the people of Mazandaran, rather than to discuss the territory of Mazandaran province,” the secretary general of the ECO Economic Cooperation Organization told reporters. “I want to convey the friendship and camaraderie of the ECO member countries.”

ECO managers and ambassadors of the member countries of this union arrived in Mazandaran on Monday evening, May 10, to attend the opening ceremony of “Sari 2022”. And handicrafts, Sari was announced as the tourism capital of ECO member countries and the opening of the international event “Sari 2022” was held.

After the opening ceremony of “Sari 2022” and the awarding of a certificate for this city as the tourism capital of ECO member countries, the 264th meeting of the ECO Permanent Representatives Council was held in Sari, followed by an interactive meeting between investors and some managers and officials of the province. The opening of the event was “Sari 2022”.

Holding cultural nights “Sari 2022” in the Park of Nations during the four nights of 19, 20, 21 and 22 May with the establishment of the National Exhibition of Handicrafts was another opening program of this event that was prepared. The opening guests of the “Sari 2022” event also visited these night tourism programs on one of the nights.

The second day of the presence of ECO managers and ambassadors of the member countries of this union passed by visiting some important economic and commercial infrastructures of Mazandaran. On the morning of Wednesday, May 11, the opening guests of the “Sari 2022” event first visited Dasht-e Naz Agricultural Complex as the largest agricultural complex in Iran and got acquainted with some of the complex’s capacities as one of the suitable infrastructures for establishing economic relations between Mazandaran and ECO member countries.

Visiting Amirabad port and getting acquainted with the infrastructure of this port as the largest port on the Caspian Sea for trade exchanges between Iran and ECO member countries and meeting with the managers of this port were other programs of the second day of “Sari 2022” guests.

At the end of the second day of the trip, the governor of Mazandaran received the guests of “Sari 2022” at a dinner. The end of this three-day trip is the beginning of a six-month opportunity for Mazandaran until the main summit of “Sari 2022” in October 1401.

Proposal host Center Mazandaran as Capital

ECO Tourism, entitled “Sari 2022”, was given to the country’s cultural heritage by the Cultural Heritage and Governorate of Mazandaran in early 2009, and on October 3, 2009, it was approved by the Council of Tourism Ministers of ECO member countries in Tajikistan.

The executive activity of this event began in December 2009 with the establishment of the secretariat at the General Directorate of Heritage, Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts, and then propaganda measures such as the unveiling of the logo.

The main objectives of the ECO Tourism Capital Plan are to encourage member countries to develop national programs for the development of tourism cities with the aim of poverty alleviation and sustainable economic development, increasing attention to nature, religious tourism, health and culture among member countries, raising urban living standards, increasing Public awareness of ECO member countries about tourist attractions, resources and facilities in these countries in order to encourage inbound tourism and create positive competition between member countries in order to develop tourism.
