Wall Street Journal: Russia has used a ballistic missile to attack the capital of Ukraine

According to Fars International News Agency, this morning (Saturday, January 14), Russian missile attacks shook the capital of Ukraine.

According to the American newspaper “Wall Street Journal”, some Ukrainian officials believe that Moscow may have used ballistic missiles that Ukraine’s air defense could not intercept.

The reporter of this newspaper reported that the new attacks against Kiev this morning were carried out using ballistic missiles, which Ukraine’s limited air defense is not equipped to deal with. According to his report, a Ukrainian official claimed in this regard: They (the Russians) clearly saw that almost all the slow cruise missiles were shot down.

This morning, the media announced the new round of Russian missile attacks on Kiev and said that the sound of explosions was heard in the “Dniprovsky” area. AFP said critical infrastructure in the Ukrainian capital was the target of Russian attacks.

According to the Guardian, four explosions were heard in the center of Kyiv on Saturday morning. Air raid sirens were heard after the attack, the report claimed, for the first time since Russia began regular missile and drone attacks on the Ukrainian capital this fall. According to the Guardian, until now the warning sirens sounded between 10 and 90 minutes before an attack, giving residents time to take shelter.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko confirmed that something had landed and said on his Telegram channel that the explosions occurred in the Dniprovsky district of Kyiv on the east bank of the river. Minutes after the explosions, Kyrillo Tymoshenko, the official of the presidential office of Ukraine, announced in Telegram that a missile attack on the vital infrastructure of the country’s capital is taking place and advised the residents to take shelter.
