War causes the displacement of one hundred million people in the world

According to IRNA, Al Jazeera quoted the UN High Commissioner for Refugees on Thursday as saying that the number of people displaced by war, violence and human rights abuses in the world has reached more than 100 million.
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is the fastest and largest forced displacement crisis since then, the commissioner said.
The UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said in its latest report on Thursday that the number of refugees and asylum seekers around the world has doubled in the past decade to an all-time high.
According to the report, by the end of 2021, about 90 million people in the world were displaced and asylum seekers. This number is unprecedented since the beginning of the relevant statistics. UNHCR experts estimate that number has now reached 100 million.
War, violence and repression are rampant in many countries, and the situation has intensified in recent months, the report said. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is now exacerbating the situation.
Filippo Grande, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, said he was not optimistic about the war in Ukraine and feared it would turn into a long-term conflict. “In addition, the war in Ukraine has had a negative impact on humanitarian aid to other parts of the world,” he said.
He called on donor countries to increase their aid so that at least humanitarian aid can be implemented.
“What we have seen so far is not additional aid, but permanent aid,” he said. “The situation is such that Ukraine is currently receiving a lot of aid, and other countries in crisis are being further deprived.”
Ukraine, Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen, Ethiopia, Venezuela, and South Sudan; The list of war-torn and crisis-ridden countries whose citizens need help is long, according to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.
Countries hosting refugees and asylum seekers can also be added to this list; Countries that are usually neighbors and in many cases do not have much capital and resources to deal with them.
According to the report, by the end of 2021, there were more than 8 million refugees and asylum seekers from other countries in Turkey, Colombia, Uganda and Pakistan alone.
The report also said: “The speed and scale of displacement is greater than the possibilities on which solutions can be found for displaced persons and asylum seekers. “Crisis resolution can only be achieved through international cooperation.” According to Grandi, however, the situation of these collaborations has worsened.
“If countries do not cooperate with each other, they will not be able to stop this negative trend,” he said. In fact, everyone is a loser. “But I’m worried because Russia’s attack on Ukraine has hit all efforts to cooperate at the political level.”
Grandi added that he hopes this trend will change, otherwise the number of refugees and asylum seekers in the world will increase again in the coming years.
There are also glimmers of hope in the UNHCR report. For example, the number of people who have been displaced in their home countries and have been able to return home has increased in 2021, reaching the level before the onset of the corona epidemic.
“The war in Ukraine shows how big waves of asylum seekers can be curbed if the governments of the world, especially European governments, want to cooperate,” said Grandi, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.
