Warning about the jump in bread prices in the United States

According to IRNA on Saturday, the news network Si. بی. H&S Baltimore, which supplies bread to East Coast grocery stores and restaurants, has said it is concerned about a shortage of raw materials for production.

“In July, we will see more price growth, which will have a 35% impact on the price of flour,” said JR Patrakis, CEO of the company. This issue is directly related to the Russia-Ukraine war.

The Ukraine war disrupted the production of wheat and oilseeds, especially sunflower seeds, in a country known as the “food basket of the world.” Russia and Ukraine, on the other hand, supply 25 percent of the world’s wheat, but Russia’s invasion has halted production in Ukraine.

Of course, many countries now have strategic reserves, but these reserves are rapidly declining. Supply chain disruptions, labor shortages due to the corona outbreak and rising oil prices, which have led to rising shipping prices, will all cause prices to jump in the US this summer.

“Unfortunately, this price increase has to be paid by the end consumer, and the most vulnerable people in our community will feel this increase more than anyone else,” said Rob McKay, president and CEO of the American Bakers Association.
