Washington: To prevent the return of settlers to the north of the West Bank

According to Fars International News Agency, “Vedant Patel”, the Deputy Spokesman of the US Department of State, expressed his concern on Tuesday evening about the decision of the Zionist interim regime to allow settlers to enter the private lands of the Palestinians in the West Bank.

During the daily press conference, Patel said: “We deeply regret the Knesset’s (Israeli parliament’s) repeal of parts of the secession law that prevent the establishment of settlements. [صهیونیست‌نشین] In the north of the West Bank, we are upset.”

According to the American media, he stated that the expansion of Zionist settlements in the West Bank is an obstacle to achieving peace, and explained: “We strongly want to prevent the settlers from returning to the areas covered by the separation law.”

This American diplomat added: “Knesset commitment.” [آریل] Sharon to the President [جورج] Bush vetoed the evacuation of illegal settlements in the northern West Bank. The action of the Knesset before Ramadan and Easter is provocative and has the opposite result.

Yesterday, the Zionist parliament approved a plan that, by canceling a law approved in 2005, allows the return of the occupiers to the evacuated settlements in the north of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. (More details)

Hundreds of thousands of Israelis live in Jewish settlements built by the Zionist regime after the 1967 war and the occupation of Palestinian lands in the West Bank and East of Jerusalem.

The United Nations and most countries of the world consider the settlements of the Zionist regime illegal because this regime occupied these lands in the 1967 war and based on the Geneva Convention, any construction by the occupier in the occupied lands is prohibited.

Palestinians seek to form an independent state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, with Jerusalem as its capital. They also want Israel to withdraw from the territories occupied in 1967, but Israel refuses to return to the pre-Six Day War borders.
