Washington’s fear of the development of Iran’s drone industry; America sanctioned an individual and 4 Iranian companies



The US Department of Treasury announced on Thursday evening local time that the Office of Foreign Assets Control has sanctioned a company for allegedly participating in sending drones for use by Russia in the Ukraine war.

This American institution also announced that it has sanctioned three companies and one individual in connection with the research, development, production and supply of Iranian drones and drone parts, including Shahid drones.

US Deputy Treasury Secretary Brian Nelson announced that Washington is committed to strict implementation of its sanctions against Russia and Iran and to hold accountable those who support Russia’s war against Ukraine.

He stated: We will not hesitate to target manufacturers and suppliers who participate in Iranian drone production programs.

This American institution claimed that it has sanctioned Ambassador Airport Services for allegedly participating in coordinating military flights between Russia and Iran, including flights to transfer drones, personnel and equipment to Russia.

The US Department of Treasury also claimed to have sanctioned Pravar Pars Company, which is closely related to Imam Hussein University (AS), for allegedly participating in the production of drones for the IRGC Navy.

This American institution claimed that the IRGC provided American and Israeli drones to this company in the past to be used in the production of domestic drones with reverse engineering.

The US Department of Treasury also claimed that Dama was involved in the development and production of the Shahid-171 drone and the manufacture and supply of jet engine equipment for drones used by the IRGC.

Another Iranian company that is included in the new US sanctions is Baharestan Kish, which, according to Washington, has supervised various defense projects, including the production of the Shahid UAV.

According to the claim of the US Treasury Department, Rahmat Elah Heydari, CEO of Baharestan Kish Company, actively participated in the company’s actions to supply parts.

On July 28 this year, Ned Price, the spokesperson of the US State Department, said about the claim of sending Iranian drones to Russia for use in the Ukraine war: We will closely follow the developments. All of our sanctions are still in place and any deal with Iran regarding drones will be subject to our sanctions as well as a number of countries around the world.

According to IRNA, White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan claimed to reporters in the White House on the eve of US President Joe Biden’s visit to West Asia that according to US information, Iran is preparing to send drones to Russia for their use. It is in Ukraine.

He also claimed that Tehran is preparing to train Russians to work with these drones.

The American national security advisor also claimed that it is not clear whether Iran has provided these drones to Russia or not.

He claimed: Our information shows that the Iranian government is preparing to send several hundred drones, including those capable of carrying weapons, to Russia in an accelerated timeline.

Nasser Kanani, the spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to the journalists’ question regarding the statements of the American National Security Advisor regarding the sale of new Iranian technologies to Russia, stated: the history of cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation in the field of some new technologies goes back to The beginning of the war in Ukraine goes back and there has been no special development in this connection in the recent period.
