Water tourism and its impact on the sustainable development of Qazvin

Today, water tourism has become one of the most profitable activities, and Qazvin province is trying to take advantage of its existing water resources in this field and to achieve sustainable development.

According to IRNA’s reporter, today, taking advantage of pristine natural landscapes in the water area has become one of the important aspects of the tourism industry’s prosperity, and these days foreign and domestic tourists have also given importance to it, and for this reason, the provincial officials are trying to create the foundation. As best as possible, their existing resources should provide the grounds for the presence of tourists and ultimately the necessary economic benefit in this sector.

Although Qazvin is considered as one of the semi-arid and arid provinces of the country, but during the past years, this province has built Ziyaran dam and used it for drinking water in urban and rural areas, as well as dams under construction in Nahab and Balakhanlu and in Taking full advantage of the abundant water capacity of the Shahrood River has taken significant steps in the growth and expansion of the region’s ecosystem.

At the same time, there are also significant study and implementation projects in the water tourism sector in this province, including the transfer of water from the Alborz treatment plant to the Allahabad lagoon in order to revive it and create accommodation and sports, sailing, fishing and recreational spaces on the agenda. The officials of this province have been appointed, and some of them have even reached the stage of bidding and selecting the contractor.

Regarding the measures taken by the Qazvin Regional Water Company, Qazvin Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) conducted an interview with Yadullah Maleki, CEO of the Qazvin Province Regional Water Company, in order to learn about the latest activities and programs in the field of water tourism. has done

As the first question, what is the purpose of implementing water tourism plan?

The need to pay attention to the development of tourism in water resources has always been one of our important concerns in the past years, and due to the lack of water and the absence of a dam in the province, there was no study plan in this field, but with the construction and operation of Taleghan Dam and After that, the creation of Ziyaran dam in the north, as well as the Balakhanlo and Nahab dams in the southern parts of the province, the need to prepare study plans and finally the implementation of this issue was put on the agenda.

At the same time and according to the considerations, the existing water facilities in the country and province were not used or even visited by the general public in the past, and therefore these centers were not included in the list of visits and use by tourists.

Undoubtedly, Qazvin can be a lost paradise for domestic and foreign tourists in the not-so-distant future, considering its strategic communication and historical location and the tourism plans planned for it, especially in the water sector.

In this regard, in addition to the necessary calls for the transfer of purified water from Alborz to Dashtullahabad, Abike, the implementation of water tourism projects in Ziyaran and Nahab dams, as well as the organization of Shahroud and Alamut rivers, and finally, water projects in Burmanak, Lower Tarem. Barajin and Behjatabad were seriously pursued by this company.

Considering the existing cultural and historical attractions of Qazvin province and the exploitation of Nahab and Ziyaran water dams, by launching water tourism in these areas, we can witness sustainable development while attracting private sector investors and creating suitable job opportunities in the region. and to promote tourism in the province.

You mentioned the transfer of water from the Alborz industrial and domestic treatment plant to Dashtullah Abad, please explain in this regard.

Alborz industrial-household water treatment plant, which is one of the oldest water treatment plants in the country, was used for years despite its inadequacy in the agricultural sector, which is why its study plan was implemented by the provincial water company. And finally, it was decided to transfer the wastewater of this treatment plant to the dying Allahabad wetland located in Abik city.

The existence of environmental problems, the drying up of the wetland and the fine dust in the area caused the plan to transfer the effluent of the Alborz treatment plant to the Allahabad wetland for restoration and also for the cultivation of unproductive trees to produce wood. The relationship was given and soon the tender envelopes will be reopened to determine the contractor.

With the transfer of 9 million cubic meters of water from the Alborz treatment plant to Dashtullahabad, in addition to planting trees in 800 hectares of its land and reviving the existing wetland, we will undoubtedly witness a special ecosystem in the region, which can attract many domestic and foreign tourists to this issue. draw this area

Are Ziyaran and Nahab dams ready to receive tourists?

According to the preparation of the tourism plans of these 2 dams, in the near future the recall plan will also be started. It is fed from this place.

Considering the location of the region, Ziyaran dam and river are considered for tourism spaces, including tourist accommodation, sports such as sailing, and it will be a very suitable place for domestic and foreign tourists in terms of the nature of the region. We are also busy handing over the project to the contractor.

As the largest lake in Qazvin province, Nahab Dam will also be a place for fish farming and fishing for tourists in addition to being used for sports such as sailing, and the call for the design of this dam will be published soon.

Do Qazvin rivers have the necessary grounds to create tourism?

The existence of the Shahroud river in the north of the province had led to study plans being made on it in the past, but unfortunately for some reasons, this project was stopped, but this issue has been brought to the attention of the provincial authorities again in the past months, and we are preparing a plan for it. .

In this regard, the organization of the Shahroud and Alamut rivers is seriously on the agenda of the regional water company and the consultant is also working to, in case of work, the plan to Article 23 of the Program and Budget Organization to obtain the necessary permits and Provide credit line to be sent.

By constructing a coastal wall on the Shahroud and Alamut rivers, in addition to preserving and revitalizing the adjacent lands and upstream lands, it is possible to provide tourism services such as boating and fishing along with the construction of accommodation spaces to attract tourists.
