Theater News Base: Gholam Hossein Lotfi, a veteran actor in cinema and television, said about his current situation: “A few years ago, I fell from a height while playing a role in a series.” My leg and back were injured in that accident and I am still dealing with its complications.

He explained about his film and television activities: In recent years, I have had several serial offers that I did not like about the maps, nor about his salary, nor basically about the subject of the serials! For this reason, I rejected these offers under various pretexts. In the field of cinema, I had one or two suggestions that defined the script for me and I did not like it. I do not play every role and I have been like that since the beginning of my acting career and that is why the things I do remain in my memories. I will not play a role until I connect with it. Not only sound education but his alertness and dedication too are most required.

The actor also stated that he is not worried about being forgotten by the audience due to his lack of acting: “No, I am not worried, I still have many comments on my personal page in cyberspace and I see the love and kindness of the people.” Sometimes the old series they watch remind us. I have also produced an Instagram work in 10 episodes called “Easy” that people see and comment on, and we live with it. Of course, if a good series or movie is offered, I will definitely welcome it.

Referring to his great longing for acting, Lotfi continued: “It was because of this longing that I acted in the movie” Coconut “in the field of children and adolescents last year. The film was supposed to be screened on Nowruz, but it was in corona and has not been screened yet.

I am tired of the traffic in Tehran

Referring to his residence in Qazvin, the actor said: I have been living in Qazvin, my hometown, for 5 years. I was tired of Tehran and its traffic. It is both more comfortable and has a better climate. People are kind to me on the street and I am very devoted to them. Look at any Qazvini mobile phone today, it probably has a picture with me. They often say why don’t you do something else? I can not explain to all of them what the situation is like.

Lotfi added: “Many people attribute this lack of work to my laziness, when this is not really the case.” If the working conditions are good, I will definitely accept being in front of the camera, as if I miss it too. Fortunately, the series “House to Shower” is still broadcast on various channels and networks and still keeps us alive in people’s minds. However, compared to that series, I lost about 40 kilos due to an accident that happened to me, and people often ask why you are so old? When I fell from a height, the doctor ordered a diet because it put a lot of weight on my legs. The same diet and weight loss has caused my face to sag.

“Unfortunately, the situation is such that I reject 90% of the offers because of the low salary they are considering,” Lotfi said in another part of his speech, criticizing the conditions for setting salaries for older actors who have been reduced in recent years for various reasons. It is as if we are hungry and have to accept every offer together. I say to all gentlemen, no artist is ever hungry! Sometimes, for example, they feel sorry for us! Neither I nor any of my contemporaries need these sympathies. Fortunately, we have lived proudly and today we have a normal life for ourselves.

A reasonable ratio is not observed in wages

He said: I am a retired employee of the Tehran Province Guidance Office as a director and the salary I receive is enough for me. Some of these friends make the mistake of thinking that we need so much that we want to play in something with a salary of 10 million and 20 million tomans! Today, a young actor gets 2 billion to appear in a movie. I do not claim that they should give me the same 2 billion, but at least there should be a reasonable ratio between these salaries, which is not possible.

The veteran actor emphasized: I am really a person who loves cinema, but not like the young people who today seek to show themselves at any cost. I have illustrated everything in the field. I have a doctorate in acting and cinema directing.

I have made the series “Mirror” as one of the most popular TV series, of which I still have a video treasure. I have written and directed five, six movies and appeared in many series as an actor. My point is that I have no other wish in this field that I have not achieved. My work should be judged by others and the audience, for whom, thank God, I am a good actor.

Lotfi also explained about the experience of playing negative roles in his career and the reaction of people to these roles: In playing negative roles, I have a way of playing the same negative role sweetly. A respectable example of this experience is the series “House to Shower”. Aslan is the negative role of the series, but the audience likes him. The construction of the drum is like an electric current, unless the positive and negative poles are correct, the drum is not formed. Good people alone who do not watch, bad people should be with them. Of course, I played this role in a way that was not bad, it was gray. That’s why people in negative maps don’t like me.
