We are not satisfied with the free teasers of “Bucharest”!/ Why were we satisfied with the screening?

Ali Toloui, the producer of the movie “Bucharest”, while referring to the conditions of promotion and sales of this movie, which is being screened in the cinemas of the country, emphasized that they are not committed to fulfilling the promise of free TV teasers for this movie!

Charso Press: Ali Toloui, the producer of the movie “Bucharest” directed by Masoud Atyabi, which is currently being screened in the cinemas of the country, said about the fulfillment of the promise of giving free TV teasers to this movie by the Broadcasting Organization: the cinema organization has worked hard in this field and based on the negotiations that has had with Radio and Television, they have sent a list to receive free teasers. On the other hand, Sedavsima Organization has demands based on which we are preparing teasers for the movie “Bucharest” to be broadcast on TV.

Explaining the demands of the television, he said: After all, they have rules, and based on those rules, we have to prepare and send documents. The film had to be reviewed, which happened and after that we have sent the teaser of the film. In this regard, a contract should be drawn up so that movie teasers can be broadcast on TV based on the existing requirements, and we hope this will happen. Of course, we are not very excited about this and we did not count on the help of these friends from the first day!

Toloui also said about the sales situation of the film: Considering the conditions prevailing in the society and the advertising that we could not have for this film, we consider the sales of the film to be satisfactory in general, but we hope that over time and through the word-of-mouth advertising of the people and the audience. The sales of our film will increase.

This producer also emphasized about the less prosperous opening of the movie “Bucharest” compared to the last two films of Massoud Atyabi, which had very significant sales under similar conditions: today’s conditions are really not comparable to the previous conditions. If Spielberg’s film is released in Iranian cinemas under these conditions, it will not sell! We all live in the same society, and considering the conditions we are witnessing and the lack of proper advertising, compared to the sales of other movies on the screen, I can say that the movie “Bucharest” has sold well so far. At the same time, I believe that the sales of the film will increase over time.

Emphasizing that they do not regret the screening of “Bucharest” in active conditions, he said: “The only promising point about the screening of this film, and the cinema organization and the trade union council have cooperated with us in this regard, is the issue of the length of the screening.” This movie is supposed to stay on the screen until the release of the upcoming Eid al-Fitr, and this duration of the release can help the sale of the movie.

This producer also explained about some critical reactions to the release of the film in the current conditions: we are also part of this people and like the rest of the trades that are active in the same conditions, the cinema trade must continue to exist. As a producer, if I can’t make a new film, I have made the factors involved in the process of making a film unemployed. Finally, this period will pass. In this time period of about three months that we have been facing this inflammatory situation, all professions and businesses have been working, why should we close the cinema?

He emphasized: In every family, no matter what happens, in the end all members of the family should be behind each other and try to improve the situation of others. We are not supposed to act as if we are all going to be bad forever. Respecting the conditions in the country, we did not release the movie “Bucharest” in October and we waited until November for it, but we know that the doors of the cinemas are not going to be closed forever. Aren’t restaurants and other businesses active these days? We are all equally upset, but a guild is not going to be shut down completely.

Toloui also explained about the share of the public shareholders of the film “Bucharest” from the sales profit of this film, which is considered the first film produced with public investment in Iranian cinema: as a rule, we should wait for the end of the film’s release so that an audit can be done and determined based on the total sales. How much profit will be given to each of the shareholders of this film?
