According to Fars news agency, Mohammad Khazaei, the head of the country’s cinema organization, met with the Russian film crew today at the location of the cinema organization.

In this meeting, while welcoming the Russian delegation, Khazai said about cultural interactions with Russia: Cultural relations between Iran and Russia are expanding every day, and Iranian people have a good knowledge of Russian fiction and dramatic works, and even in our prestigious universities, these works are among Course units are taught.

He added: “It is our duty in the field of cinema to bring two countries together, because cinema is the most influential language in the world for bringing countries and nations together, and we must take advantage of this capacity.” In this regard, Iran is ready to cooperate in any way.

Emphasizing that cinema and media are the most strategic tools in public diplomacy and the development of relations between nations, he added: “During our trip to Moscow, we have achieved good results in the Ministry of Culture of Russia and in various departments, including the holding of Russian film weeks, screening and broadcasting of Iranian films in Russia. The establishment of the secretariat of the working group of filmmakers in Shanghai, etc., has also been well negotiated.

While expressing his hope in the implementation of the discussed topics, he informed about the follow-up of the cinematographic organization regarding the topics discussed in these negotiations.

The head of the cinema organization noted: In my recent trip to Moscow, compared to my previous trip, which took place ten years ago, I have seen significant improvements in Russian cinema, and I admire the process of increasing production and developing infrastructure, platforms and production cinema in this country. This progress shows the stable investment in the field of cinema and the formation of large new cinematographic capacities in Russia.

He said: The West seeks to isolate the cinema of Iran and Russia, and I hope that by benefiting from the common features of the two countries, it will be used to be presented at the international level and become a cultural authority in cinema, so that the exchange of experiences between Iran and the countries aligned to it will become a great authority. Become cinematic.

According to him, the West is trying to prevent the cultural growth and development of the cinema industry in other countries with the policy of unilateralism, and in this way, it has adopted the boycott strategy, which will be doomed to failure.

Khazai stated that today’s world is witnessing the formation of new cultural horizons, and said: We are now witnessing the formation of new cinematic and cultural poles in the world, and with the declining trend of western culture, this process will increase.

The head of the cinematographic organization emphasized the need for regional and international cooperation, especially in the field of neighboring countries, and stated: strengthening and developing cooperation is related to global requirements and continuous changes that have taken place in the world, and it is necessary to move in new artistic and cinematic directions.

After this meeting, Valery Ivanovich Tonkikh, head of the delegation and deputy of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, stated that Iran is a country full of friendship, hospitality and rich culture and said: We felt this warmth of hospitality and welcome in informal spaces as well as in official settings and negotiations. .

He continued: We are a delegation from the Union of People’s Cinematographers of Russia and our idea is to create a joint association between Iran and Russia in the field of cinema, the first steps of which have begun.

Alexander Salamonov, the senior official of the Russian Cinematographers Department, also said: Our negotiations with the Iranian delegation were fruitful and fortunately, this is the first time that Russian Cinema Days will be held in Iran.

According to him; Today, culture has gone to new paths and finds its own way. We have long-term visions for cinema in which we have the cooperation of Eurasian countries and with the good capacity that Iran has, I hope we will receive a positive response from the Iranian side.

He added: The two international projects of the Eurasian Cinema Academy and the Caspian Cultural Project are the biggest Russian film programs and we are very eager to cooperate with Iran in this field. The first time the idea of the Eurasia and Caspian festival was proposed, we were able to attract the support of Putin and the Eurasian governments.

Alexander Salamonov said that he is sure that good things have started in the field of film cooperation and added: To realize the vision of Balande’s cinema, we need the help of the Persian Gulf countries, especially Iran.

The senior official of the Russian Cinematographers Department said: The statute of the Eurasian Academy project is being prepared and it is important to us who participates in this project. The main emphasis is on the closeness of the cinematographic views of the countries to each other, and we follow a free thought. There are various parts in this project and the Academy Award is the most important part.

He continued: We don’t want to bring the name of Oscar and make an imitation of it, but we are looking for an award equal to Oscar, and we want to support cinematographers and help those who will participate in this festival in the future. The importance of this award is significant. If there is a desire from the Iranian side, we want Iran to cooperate with us in the executive committee.

Alexander Salamonov stated: The second project is the Caspian film program and we are looking for a common vision with Iran. This idea came up when I did not know that this idea was also discussed in Iran. The common point of this conference is the participation of countries bordering the Caspian Sea, and we intend to hold it on the Caspian Sea.

He emphasized: These goals are big and their realization requires small steps, and the holding of Russian cinema days in Iran was also a small step in this regard.

The senior official of the Russian Cinematographers Administration noted: The creation of a joint working group between Iran and Russia in order to hold the Caspian Conference is one of our requests. Although the cooperation should not be limited to the film and the field of animation is not exempted from this case, and it is necessary to form detailed working meetings and working groups for it.

He pointed out that the Russian and Iranian film festivals are of great importance and the screening of Russian films in the Fajr Film Festival is a priority. We can help Iranian filmmakers to participate in more festivals in Russia, and as Mr. Khazaei rightly said: Cinema is the best and shortest way to progress, and I am sure that our relations will go better than before.

Galina Mikhailovna Sitsko, the producer of the movie Elsa’s Land, said: Many Iranian works shone at the Moscow Film Festival and won two awards. You have also received an award in the animation festival. Iranian cinema has been active in international festivals and Russia is ready to cooperate with Iran in the field of cinema industry.

He continued: In the field of animation production, we also request that an animation festival be held in Russia. From the side of Iran, we have good animators, and good evaluations have been made by the jury on Iranian works. Russia is also a creative and dynamic animation field and has a good budget.

Ivan Kimovich Bolontikov, the producer of the film “Don’t Bury Me Without Ivan” said in this meeting: “To maintain friendship, we need a common point and its expansion.” Creating a joint working group of cinematographers from the two countries will lead to the transfer of creativity between the two countries and we will definitely achieve good results in this field.

He added: There should always be informal communication. In addition to common points, we have differences that can be understood through cooperation. Starting right is important and the idea of creating a joint task force is unique.

It should be mentioned that Asghar Farsi, Deputy Director of Management and Resource Development of Cinema Organization, Alireza Esmaili, Director General of Cinema Organization, Seyed Mehdi Javadi, CEO of Farabi Cinema Foundation, and Seyed Sadegh Mousavi, Director General of Festivals and International Cooperation Office, were present in this meeting.
