According to the music reporter of Fars news agency, Hoshang Kurdestani, singer and leader of the Kermani band, who performed at the regional music festival, said on the sidelines of the event: “Young people have more contact with foreign music and identity and have accepted them to some extent, a platform should be provided to Young people should attend these performances and get to know the artists face to face and learn about the rich content of the music of the regions. It was expected that a hall would be provided for this period so that at least an acceptable number could watch the performances.

Referring to the use of regional music by the youth of Kerman province, he noted: these musics are performed in the happy ceremonies of Kerman province and the youth have a good relationship with it. We use traditional instruments along with western instruments and it has its place among young people. We did not sit idle and we are trying to preserve our musical identity. The music of the areas in the south of Kerman is nascent, but the credit for promoting music is not considered for it, or it is very little. For this reason, holding training workshops is very weak in our province.

This artist continued: In a meeting, they asked me what do you want and what should we do? I said that until the word art is placed next to culture in the birth certificate of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, nothing will be gained from art and music. Music is currently the stepbrother of culture, not its brother.

Kurdestani stated that there is no support for the music artists of the regions and added: I have attended various festivals for forty years and I have not missed any festival. When I was working with Mr. Tawhidi, no one believed in the music of the regions in our province, but unfortunately, I don’t even have insurance, only 1 million per month is deposited from the art fund.

It should be mentioned that the 16th regional music festival was held from 16 to 19 Azar in Tehran’s Roudaki Hall.
