Mohsen Samizadeh in an interview with Mehr reporter about the presence of Iranian swimmers in the world championships said: “Since the last 3 years when I was in charge of managing national swimming teams, my colleagues and I have put the decentralized system at the forefront of our work because we believe that We must increase the number of swimmers and coaches in the country in order to provide a platform to help quality and achieve better results by increasing the quantity.
The national swimming team managers continued: “Thank God this happened.” The number of good swimmers is increasing and three of our swimmers managed to win the direct quota of world competitions for the first time. Of course, Mehdi Ansari also had a chance to enter the world competitions, but for some reason he did not participate in the competitions. Benjamin Qara Hassanlou also did not participate in the competition due to a shoulder injury.
He emphasized: “Besides these swimmers, we have other good swimmers such as Matin Sehran, Homer Abbasi, Ali Rashidi and Ali Jafari.” We are gradually moving away from the greenhouse system.
He stated: we must reach the required quality from the heart of quantity. We currently have about 12 good swimmers competing for the world and future Olympics. These are good and happy events. But we also have weaknesses that we can not deny. For example, the training chances of swimmers are low and we face a lack of preparation competitions. Just as football and volleyball teams need preparation matches, swimming is no exception.
The managers of the national swimming teams added: “Unfortunately, in the last 3 years, we did not have a single preparation competition and the national team succeeded in entering a big arena like the world championship, which is the place of the world’s great swimmers. We are satisfied with the results. Good things happened and Mehrshad Asghari and Matin Balsini improved their records. We are satisfied with the records.
In the end, Mohsen Samizadeh said: “In the past, the national team trained for at least 5 to 6 months in Europe and many preparation competitions were held, but in recent years, our swimmers have only trained in their own cities and no preparation meeting was held and they succeeded.” Gain entrance to world and Olympic competitions. If our operational plans are implemented during the one-year period and holding 9 preparatory matches, do not doubt that we can achieve good results in next year’s Asian Games.
