According to the cultural reporter of Fars News Agency, the press conference of the movie “Agush Drem” on Thursday – 20th of Bahman 1401 – in the first screening for the media and the critics community at Media Cinema (Mellat Cinema Campus) Babak Khajepasha director, Sajjad Nasralhi Nesab producer, Mohammad Fakuri director Cinematography, Roya Akbarzadeh, costume designer, Iman Kermian, special effects designer, Javad Qamati, Babak Khajepasha, Rayan Lotfi, Ahura Lotfi and Ruhollah Zamani are among the actors of this film who are present in this meeting.
Working with children is very difficult
Sajjad Nasrallahi, the producer of the film “Embrace the tree” said: “We started planning and writing from the beginning of this year and started shooting the film from July.” Regarding Maral Bani Adam’s non-attendance at the press conference, he said: He called and said that they were on their way, they were not in Tehran, but now they are stuck in the snow and I think it is unlikely that they will make it to the program.
He said: It is very difficult to work with children. Our concern in the production was to make it a children’s game and what we had in mind to happen. Fortunately, all factors helped and we were able to overcome this concern.
A child can change the world
Babak Lotfi Khajepasha, director of the film, said: Thank you to the media that help keep the Fajr Film Festival alive. I dedicate this movie to all Iranian mothers. Regarding the subject of the film, I should also say that “family” is a subject that is always a concern for me. Society and politics can be made from the family. We should work on the issue of divorce, which is growing significantly in our country, and make a film.
The director added: The message of the film is loss. I feel that there is no greater blessing than children. Children are very influential in our lives. A child is wonderful and can change the world. Children need respect. Sometimes we go for big words to make movies, while we can create movies from simple things that are close to our cinema.
I hope we will return to colorful cinema again
Lotfi Khaje Pasha said: We have been moving towards a gray cinema similar to Eastern European cinema for a decade, 90% of our films are gray, our cinema is a cinema of color and beauty, we forgot this cinema, the film “Where is the friend’s house” (director Abbas Kiarostami) is a very valuable work, but we don’t see it in the cinema. I hope we will return to this type of cinema again.
In response to the question of who is the composer of this music, the director stated: The soundtrack of the film was chosen and we will add our own music in the general release version.
Khajeh Pasha replied: Yes, we had five consultants in each part of the film and we used their opinion. The use of accent is very good and creates a difference and an effective element in the film, for example, one person speaks Turkish and the other answers in Farsi and… and it is really the same in Urmia.
I am proud that my work is similar to Reza Mirkarimi’s cinema
Lotfi Khajepasha further emphasized: Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, Lorestan, etc. are heaven. I don’t know why people of other countries think that Iran is all desert. We should try to show our country in cinema from different climates.
In response to the question, is there a real example of the distance phobia of Kimia’s character? He stated: Yes, there is fear and I saw it. But this phobia was a show. Women understand the phobia of all kinds of insects and animals and heights, but this type of phobia was more specific and dramatic.
Lotfi Khajepasha, in response to a journalist’s criticism that “In the embrace of the tree” is similar to the cinema of Reza Mirkarimi (cinema director), explained: Reza Mirkarimi cannot be separated from cinema. He is so influential in Iranian cinema that the body of cinema is indebted to him. It is an honor even if my film is similar to his cinema.
In response to the question that the young actors have a lot of work, the director of “In the embrace of the tree” clarified: The children worked in several series that I made.
I call my cousin brother
Young actor Rayan Lotfi said: I am 5 years old. Most of my games were in the water and Babak took me to play. I want to be famous.
Ahura Lotfi (Ryan’s cousin), the child actor of the film, said: I am very interested in acting and I told Mr. Khajeh Pasha (uncle) this too, and he also saw the closeness between me and Rayan and chose us. I call each other brother. I am eleven years old. A week before the filming, we practiced the dialogues and our stress decreased and we were able to speak well in front of the camera.
Ruhollah once said to the actors of the film: I hope you enjoyed our film. During the time I entered the field of acting, I tried my best. Maintaining the position is important and I tried to maintain the position I got.
He added: Before I acted in the movie Khurshid (produced by Majid Majidi – 2018), I had to work and did not have time to study. After I acted in that movie, I started studying again and I even take classes in the field of acting.

A good co-star in cinema is half the way
Actor Javad Qamati said: If filmmakers know what a paradise Urmia is, they would not be separated from it to make a film. Also, we are thinking of our dear people who are in trouble these days and we hope that everything will be fixed soon.
He said about the difficulty of working with children: If you have a good teammate, you are half way there. All my co-stars were very good. We used to go to the pool with the children for a week and communicate with each other. The production and production children of Urmia worked very hard. Mohammad Fakuri, director of photography, explained about the production of this film: I wish that the film is narrated correctly in terms of filming and leaves its own impact. The director and I have been friends for many years and we worked together in the field of short films about 16 years ago. I was with Babak Khajepasha about the idea and plan and I knew about the details. There have been plans that I have added to after pre-production and I can say that in this film we even agreed on the choice of filming locations.
He added: The filming of this work took one and a half months, but I was with this group from the beginning. “In the embrace of the tree” is in praise of the family; What everyone in the world has is being deprived of it. This issue is very important.
Roya Akbarzadeh, the film’s costume designer, said: This was my first experience in the cinema. I hope you have seen and enjoyed this movie. I am a child of nature and I inspired the characters from nature and implemented them in consultation with the director.
Special effects manager Iman Kermian explained: I had a heavier duty in this film and in addition to field effects, we were also in charge of special effects. I tried to do my job properly and not to embarrass the audience and the director. I hope people like this movie.
