“Wes Anderson” receives an award from Venice

American style director Wes Anderson is being honored at the Venice Film Festival ahead of the screening of his latest film.
Charso Press: According to Variety, Wes Anderson will receive the Cartier Glory to the Filmmaker Award from the 80th Venice Film Festival, an award given annually to a person who has made a special contribution to the contemporary film industry.
He will receive this award before the screening of his new film “The Amazing Story of Henry Sugar” starring Ralph Fiennes, Benedict Cumberbatch, Du Patel and Ben Kingsley.
The 40-minute film produced by Netflix, which will be screened in the out-of-competition section of the festival, is adapted from a story written by Roald Dahl and tells the story of a rich man who meets a teacher who can see without using his eyes. He decides to acquire this skill in order to cheat in gambling.
Anderson’s other films include Rushmore, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The French Report, Darjeeling Limited, The Amazing Mr. Fox, Moonrise Realm, and Asteroid City.
Alberto Barbera, director of the Venice Film Festival, said: “Wes Anderson is one of the few directors whose unique and unique style can be recognized with just one frame. His world goes back to a childish and dreamlike aesthetic dominated by pastel colors and obsessive attention to creating perfectly symmetrical sequences with romantic and happy characters.
The 80th Venice Film Festival will be held in Italy from August 30 to September 9 (September 8 to 18).
