What are the best-selling phone brands in the Middle East? + List

Smartphone sales in the Middle East (excluding Turkey) are declining every year, and there are little expectations for phone sales in this region. But the situation in the first quarter of 2023 was better than expected, and Samsung also became the best-selling brand in the Middle East.
Analysts expected a 13% decline in phone sales in the first quarter of 2023 in the Middle East market, but according to the latest data from the research firm Canalis, the decrease in sales in this market was only 3.5%. In fact, in the first three months of 2023, companies have sold a total of 8.8 million smartphones in this region.
Iran is not mentioned directly in this report. According to Canalys, phone sales in Saudi Arabia grew by 1 percent, while phone sales in the United Arab Emirates experienced a 3 percent decline. In Iraq and Kuwait, phone sales have decreased by 3% and 11%, respectively.
Samsung, the best-selling phone brand in the Middle East
Samsung has been able to release the most phones in the Middle East region in the first quarter of 2023. The Koreans have sold 3.8 million phones in this period and have gained a share of 43%. However, Samsung’s annual sales growth was negative 5.3%.
Apple is in second place. The Cupertinos have managed to sell 1.3 million smartphones in the Middle East market during this period and have gained a 15% share. However, Apple experienced an annual sales growth of 35.4%.
Xiaomi stands out in third place. The Chinese have been able to sell 1.0 million phones in the Middle East with annual sales growth of 1.6% and have gained an 11% share. It should be noted that in this report, the Xiaomi brand includes Redmi and Poco subcategories. Chinese brands Transsion and Oppo are in the fourth and fifth place with 11 and 4 percent shares, respectively.
