Increase planned trips

Increase travel costs
The average cost per trip for 2022 is beyond 2019 because travelers are looking to upgrade their travel experience. According to the data, American travelers are expected to spend 29% more on their travel in 2022 than in 2019. The average booking rate in 2022 compared to 2019 in Australia will increase by 16%. The Japanese traveler also expects to spend 30% less in 2022 compared to 2019. While in the UK, they plan to spend a little less (one percent) from 2019.
The biggest change will be people’s perception of the cost of each trip. More than a quarter of travelers in each of the five markets surveyed said it was now more important to avoid major trips than before the epidemic.
The success of domestic travel
Domestic travel is still a leader. While a significant portion of people in most of the markets surveyed plan to travel abroad for leisure in 2022, traveling within their own country is still the most desirable option. 74% of Singaporean respondents plan to travel domestically, while 53% plan to travel abroad. 73% of Britons plan to travel domestically and 48% plan to travel abroad.
Sixty-eight percent of people in the United States and Australia plan to travel domestically, and 29 percent of Americans and 38 percent of Australians are likely to travel abroad in 2022. Fifty percent of Japanese respondents reported that they are likely to travel home in 2022, compared with 10 percent who will travel abroad.
Gain new travel experiences
Travelers are looking for new travel experiences in 2022 and beyond. More than one-third to one-half of travelers surveyed in the United States (41%), the United Kingdom (38%), Australia (46%), Japan (34%) and Singapore (49%) said that choosing a place to travel to a previous destination They have not traveled to this place, it has become more important compared to 2019.
