What did “Beside the Butterflies” teach people? / Petki: I was the untie of the series

Fars News Agency – Radio and Television Group: The story of the series “Beside the Butterflies”, the final part of which will be broadcast tonight on Channel 2, is about the evolution of a human being who inadvertently made a mistake and is being punished during the story. Rahi, played by the famous Samrand in this series, is a clear example of people who do something wrong and find themselves in a situation where the conditions for compensation are provided.
Perhaps one of the lessons of this series is in this field, which can be forgiven by admitting a mistake and come back to life and start again. But in the same series, there are many other characters who were in a situation similar to Rahi and are looking for an opportunity to get rid of this situation.
One of these characters in this series is “Taqi”. A rural and hardworking man who accidentally changes his life and the lives of the villagers, and this event will have a negative impact on the lives of the villagers for years to come. He has a child who accidentally lost both his eyes in this incident, and this torment of conscience does not leave him.
“Majid Pataki” is an old film and television actor who has acted in many series and movies. Among his most significant works, we can mention Armando, Lovers, 23 people, Night Way, personal clothes, etc.
He has now appeared in the series alongside the butterflies as “Taqi”, a villager. The person who is supposed to untie the knot in the last part of the secret that everyone is trying to reveal. We talked to Patki about Taqi’s character, the characteristics of his role and his role in the north of the country, as well as the roles he likes to play.
The series “Beside the Butterflies” directed by Dariush Yari and produced by Behrouz Mofid will be broadcast this evening on Channel Two.
** I think you were born in the north of the country and you started your acting career there?
Yes, I was born in Rasht.
** Does your presence in this series have anything to do with your originality? Because many of the actors in this series are natives of the north.
It’s up to the director to choose. Mr. Yari has been living in the north for several years and is familiar with the people of this region and their culture. For this reason, the selection of actors who are natives is based on Mr. Yari’s acquaintance with me and other friends. Of course, I also collaborated with Mr. Yari in two other works.
** Do you still live in the north or in Tehran?
I am in Tehran to work, but because my wife Narges Farzi is one of the old puppets of the central radio station of Gilan and has been working for many years, my son and my wife live in the north because of their job issues.
** Can you tell us about how you were selected by Mr. Yari and how you were selected for the role of Taqi?
Dariush Yari was already familiar with my type of play, and in this series, both he and Mr. Mofid trusted me and gave me the role of Taqi. But Mr. Yari said that it might not be a big role, but the riddle that is going on in the whole story is solved by this person and he said that I feel you are a good option for this role, and after I read the script and we talked I found myself close to this role.
Anyway, I tried to play this role better, and I watch the work from the perspective of people and audiences, rather than from my own perspective as an actor. Even now, when I see people in the north and in Tehran talking about this series and the fate of Taqi, I realize that fortunately this series has been seen.
** Normally for some actors it is important to like the characteristics of the role they want to play. Which features of this role appealed to you?
This role has a power that unfortunately many people do not have in their lives, it is the power of confession, and that was what attracted me. Many do not have to admit or realize the mistake or guilt they committed. Taqi’s character had done something wrong and was to blame for the fire, which had caused problems for the villagers, and he finally admitted his mistake. He was one of those conscientious objectors and did not have a negative personality and he wanted to be free from the torment that has been with him for years if he could hide it for the rest of his life. He represented people who inadvertently engage in behavior and later see signs around them. It was like the torment that Taqi suffers in his life, which also goes back to the blindness of his own child in the same fire, and it was the torment that God had inflicted on him in this world, and he himself realized this. I loved this role from the beginning and the length and width of the role did not matter to me.
** Didn’t it matter to you that the main game of this character has not started until the 20th and more episodes of the series?
No, I had read the script and the director told me that. In acting, I am such that every role assigned to me remains like the main role in the series. I believe that if I was offered the role of Taqi now and at this time, it would have been a lesson for me that maybe I, Majid Petki, should have the power to confess the sins I committed unintentionally and get rid of the torment of conscience.
** So, as you say, playing this role brought you positive lessons?
Yes, whatever is offered is not a coincidence. I live by my work. Right now, a fishing role has been proposed, which is forced to be smuggled due to its small size. Probably a factor as to why they’re doing so poorly in recent years. These show me that I should not be greedy in my future life and I have always asked God to give me capacity first and then to provide financially. Now, after about thirty years of working in the field of art on television and radio, I trust God and I know that he determines the best for me. I am an employee of the people and I work for them as long as they want me.
** How much do you believe that TV series should have positive teachings for people?
It has not been useful at all if the performing arts could not and would not solve a problem in society or in culture and education. I have even said many times that in many government agencies that have nothing to do with the performing arts, we have an amphitheater. For example, the amphitheater of Bank Saderat. The person who wants to design this complex has also designed a hall called the amphitheater, which is not the only meeting hall, and in these halls, artistic activities such as plays, music, etc. were also performed, and that bank meeting was held. Stylizes.
Or we saw that the same organs, when they hold a ceremony, also perform a show among their programs. In all Iranian and foreign serials and movies, there are lessons that people can benefit from.
** How interesting was the story of this series, which is about the evolution of a human being, to yourself?
Mr. Yari is a person who is deeply religious and expresses many of his beliefs in the story, and if we see a part of the story that has entered about the Qur’an and verses that many of us may not know, it is because of belief He has his own heart and takes all of this into account when rewriting the script with the author, and if he does not do so, he will refer to it while recording.
What we see is a story in which the director receives from the writer and approaches the work himself. Because Dariush Deli is close to the story, I also decided to deal with Deli. When I read the story, I first turned my heart to it and saw that the story affected me, which I later accepted as Taqi. Then I knew who wanted to make this story. There is a time when we read a story and Taqi seems to us as a special kind. For example, I am called an actor and I sing the role of Taqi, and when I go in front of the camera and because both (me and the director) came forward and clashed with Taqi’s character, we see that what In the director’s mind and in my mind it is one. The closer these views are between the director and the actor and the actors, the better the result. In this series, what was very clear was the empathy between the agents, and that was what I saw up close. I think this series has done a good and pleasant job. Now, in addition to depicting the nature of Gilan, it has also acted well in content.
** What role did you like to be offered or not during these years?
The role of the police. A while ago, a friend offered me a role as a police officer for a short job, and I signed a contract and I was a FATA police officer. But well, because I was playing in another job and I had a make-up record, it was not suitable for the FATA police in the opinion of FATA experts, and I was not allowed to play this role.
** One of the landmark films you starred in was “23 People.” Tell us about your presence in this film.
In this film, I played the role of one of the Iranian prisoners, who was the only army officer named Colonel Taghavi in the main story, but due to the rewriting of the book in the film, he became Captain Taghavi. He was fully aware of the prisoners’ behavior and supported the 23 children and protested their arrest.
** Did you know such a character before starring in this movie?
No, I did not know him very well. But it is very interesting that when we were filming this movie in Abadan, two of the 23 people came there to play in a sequence and they were roommates with me in the hotel and as soon as they saw my makeup and clothes, they told each other Colonel Taqwa! I mean, my makeup and clothes were so close to the reality that they had seen that they thought they saw Mr. Taghavi. Then these two people, who knew Mr. Taghavi closely, gave me some information about his personality traits.
** Final sentence.
I always wanted to play in good works and I never like that some people say that you played well in this work, but the whole thing was not good and this is the death of an actor for me.
