What is the Taliban’s first annual budget deficit?

Abdul Salam Hanafi, the Taliban’s deputy prime minister in Afghanistan, presented Afghanistan’s first annual budget after taking full control of the country.
He said that according to this budget, the Taliban interim government is expected to spend 231.4 billion afghanis this year and has projected 186.7 billion afghanis in revenue. Accordingly, the Taliban interim government will face a budget deficit of 44 billion afghanis ($ 501 million) this year. However, Hanafi did not specify how the Taliban wanted to compensate for the budget deficit.
Since 2001 and the US military invasion of Afghanistan, the country has relied heavily on foreign aid to finance itself.
It was August 2021 when foreign troops left Afghanistan, overthrowing the government and bringing the government to power. The world has not yet recognized the Taliban as a government in Afghanistan, and the country is currently facing growing security problems and a serious economic crisis.
“This year, the current budget has been approved by the Council of Ministers and Taliban leader Hebatullah Akhundzadeh, and will be implemented by February next year,” he said.
