WhatsApp no longer supports iOS 10 and 11

In a new announcement seen on the WABetaInfo website, WhatsApp has asked iPhone users to upgrade to the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system to continue using the messaging service after October 24.

A WhatsApp support article notes that the company recommends iOS 12 as a base for iPhone users. Users with iPhone 5s, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s can still use WhatsApp on their device, but iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c owners should consider upgrading to a new phone.

According to the Angjet website, given that a decade has passed since the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c models, this action will probably not involve many users. Millions of people around the world use WhatsApp to stay in touch with friends and family, and there are at least a handful of people who still use the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c.
