According to an announcement published by Facebook (WhatsApp owner), WhatsApp will be disabled on many phones for another month.
From November 1 (about 1 month), WhatsApp will no longer support phones running Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sadwich) or lower, and iPhones running iOS 9 or later. If your phone also contains the above, the next WhatsApp update will have a negative effect on you!
According to an official announcement released by Facebook:
From November 1, 2021, WhatsApp will no longer support Android 4.0.4 based phones and older versions. Whatsapp app will also be available for iPhone owners from iOS 10 to later. We suggest that users use the latest iOS version available on their device.
What should we do if the WhatsApp update caused us problems?
The first thing you need to do is back up your WhatsApp messages. Other than that, if possible, upgrade your phone to access Whatsapp backups.
For Android users, WhatsApp Messenger supports Android 4.1 and later (released in 2012). To better understand the issue, we should mention that Galaxy S2 owners will be able to easily use this program by updating to Android 4.1.2. But unfortunately, owners of lower-end Samsung phones will have a problem.
For Apple phone owners, WhatsApp also supports iOS 10 and later (released in 2016). You can upgrade your iPhone 5 to iOS 10.3.4, but owners of iPhone 4s and older versions will be excluded.
If your phone does not have the ability to upgrade to newer versions of the Android or iOS operating system, all you have to do is buy a new smartphone.
In addition to the above, WhatsApp will also run on systems running KaiOS 2.5.0 or later, including JioPhone and JioPhone 2.
WhatsApp did not say in a statement why it was suspending support for older devices. In any case, if you are using an old phone, now is the best time to reach into your pocket and buy a new smartphone; Especially if you are a fan of the popular West App app.
