According to the report of Iran Economist, the latest statistics published by the Central Bank of the flow of checks show that in November of this year, about seven million checks with a value of about 367.9 thousand billion tomans were exchanged, which in terms of number and amount were respectively 9 2 and 15.5 percent increase compared to the previous month.

On the other hand, about 6.5 million checks with a value of more than 333.5 thousand billion Tomans have been collected from exchange checks, which is an increase of 9.8 and 17.8 percent in terms of number and amount, respectively.

In the meantime, it should be noted that 92.9% and 90.7% of the total number and amount of exchanged checks were collected in the mentioned month.

Of course, in addition to collection checks, about 496,000 checks have also been returned, which has increased by 2.4% and the amount of returned checks has decreased by 2.8%.

Also, during this period, more than 2.2 million checks with a value of 184.7 thousand billion Tomans were exchanged in Tehran province, which shows that Tehran province is the leader in the exchange of checks in the country.

About 2.1 million checks received in Tehran with a value of more than 170.2 thousand billion tomans and about 146 thousand returned checks with a value of more than 14.5 thousand billion tomans have been reported.

The amount of returned checks by reasons

In addition, in November of this year, about 478 thousand checks with a value of more than 33 thousand billion Tomans were returned due to deficit or lack of inventory, which is actually 96.4% in terms of number and 96.3% in terms of value of all returned checks. It was due to shortage or lack of inventory.

On the other hand, in Tehran province, more than 139,000 checks worth about 14,000 billion tomans have been returned due to deficit or lack of balance, which is 95.6% in terms of number and 96.1% in terms of amount of returned checks in Tehran province. All checks have been returned due to shortage or lack of balance.

Also, the examination of the ratio of the number and value of returned checks to the total of exchanged checks shows that the highest ratio of the number of returned checks to the total of exchanged checks in the province is in the provinces of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad (10.9%), Kurdistan (9.7%) and Chaharmahal respectively. Bakhtiari (9.2 percent) and Gilan (5.2 percent), Khuzestan (6.3 percent), and Alborz, Kermanshah and Golestan provinces (6.5 percent each) have the lowest ratio of the number of returned checks to the total number of checks. The highest value of returned checks to the total value of exchanged checks in the province is assigned to Kerman (16 percent), Kurdistan (15.5 percent), West Azerbaijan (14.2 percent) and Gilan provinces (7.7 percent). , Alborz (7.8 percent) and Hormozgan (8.7 percent) accounted for the lowest percentage of the value of returned checks to all checks exchanged in the province.

According to this report, Tehran province has the highest number and value of returned checks with 142,100 returned checks worth more than 14.5 thousand billion tomans.

On the other hand, after free zones (300 returned checks), Ilam province has the lowest number and value of returned checks in the country with 400 returned checks worth 22.1 thousand billion Tomans in November.

In addition, the examination of the credit status of the provinces in the number and amount of collected checks shows that Gilan and Alborz provinces were the most creditable provinces in the field of check collection. The rate of check collection in Tehran and Alborz was 92.3 and 92.2%, respectively, and Tehran and Hormozgan provinces with 92.1 and 91.3% are the best provinces after Gilan and Alborz.

Also, the share of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad provinces in the collection of checks was 89.1%, which was the worst province in November of this year in the field of check exchange.
