Which country has the most Bitcoin ATMs?

According to Iran Economist, citing Crypto, currently, 39,678 ATMs are scattered in 84 countries, more than 85% of which are located in the United States of America.
According to the latest data, Bitcoin ATMs are mainly located in North America, and the world’s leading economy has 34,298 machines, and their number is the highest in the financial centers of New York, Los Angeles, and Miami.
The United States’ northern neighbor, Canada, is in second place with 2,704 ATMs.
Spain (270), Poland (214) and El Salvador (212) are the next countries to complete the top five. It’s no surprise that the small Central American country has found its place among the leaders since becoming the first country to legalize Bitcoin.
The highest concentration of Bitcoin ATMs in Asia is in the Special Administrative Region of China, Hong Kong, where 154 machines can be found.
Japan, for its part, has not had any devices on its territory for more than four years. Domestic authorities shut down all cryptocurrency ATMs at the beginning of 2018 when hackers attacked digital asset platform Coincheck, but in August this year, they softened their stance and allowed a few machines to be installed in Tokyo and Osaka.
Interestingly, Singapore, which aims to become a cryptocurrency hub, does not have any Bitcoin ATMs. The country’s top financial regulator banned cash-to-crypto terminals as part of a wider crackdown on promoting cryptocurrencies to the public earlier this year.
Kazakhstan, the country that accounts for more than 13% of global hashrate mining, has only one Bitcoin ATM, while Vietnam, the world leader in cryptocurrency adoption, has five.
The first Bitcoin ATM was installed on October 29, 2013 in a coffee shop in Vancouver, Canada. The second device was launched on October 8, 2013 in Bratislava, Slovakia, while the United States waited until February 18, 2014 to deploy its first device in New Mexico.
The number of devices slowly increased to over 500 by the end of 2015, while in December they were almost 2,000 worldwide.
The bear market of 2018 halted the rapid expansion of Bitcoin ATMs, but their numbers rebounded in the following years. By the end of 2020, there were more than 12,600 automated cryptographic kiosks around the world.
Last year, when most cryptocurrencies reached high prices, crypto ATMs started to work. More than 20,000 devices were deployed in various countries, including struggling economies such as Cambodia, Namibia, Venezuela, Lebanon, etc.
The long crypto winter that has reigned for the greater part of 2022 has slowed down, and the first 11 months of the year have seen the installation of 6,100 new crypto ATMs, or almost three times less than those launched in 2021.
The total value of the global market of digital currencies is currently estimated at 807.63 billion dollars, which has decreased by 0.71% compared to the previous day. Currently, 39.84% of the total digital currency market is owned by Bitcoin, which has increased by 0.13% in one day.
The total volume of the digital currency market in the last 24 hours is 22.75 billion dollars, which has decreased by 12.50%. The total volume in decentralized finance is currently $1.23 billion, which is 5.43% of the total 24-hour cryptocurrency market volume. The volume of all stablecoins is now $20.49 billion, which is 90.03% of the total 24-hour cryptocurrency market volume.
