White House: Biden does not intend to negotiate with Putin

According to Fars International News Agency, John Kirby, the spokesman for the National Security Council of the White House, stated to reporters on Friday (December 2) that US President Joe Biden currently has no intention of negotiating with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the end of the war in Ukraine. .

A day after Biden appeared to offer a conditional offer to talk to his Russian counterpart, Kirby told reporters: “We’re not at a point right now where dialogue is a useful path to an outcome.”

Last Thursday, during a press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron, Biden said: I am ready to talk to Mr. Putin if he is interested in deciding to look for a way to end the war. He has not yet made such a decision.

In explaining Biden’s statements, Kirby claimed: Putin has not shown any interest in any kind of dialogue and it has been the complete opposite. The President of the United States has not indicated at all that now is the time for dialogue. In fact, he has proven that only President Zelensky (President of Ukraine) can determine if and when an agreement will be negotiated and what the conditions will be around this agreement.

The Kremlin previously announced in a statement that Putin is ready to negotiate with the West on the condition that the West recognizes the new territories annexed from Ukraine to Russia.
