White House: We will continue to supply Ukraine with weapons to win the battle

“The appointment of a new Russian commander for the war in Ukraine means a continuation of what we have seen before,” Saki told Fox News on Sunday, local time.

A White House spokesman continued: “We expect that.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Alexander Dovornikov, commander of Russia’s southern military region, as the country’s warlord in Ukraine, CNN reported.

Dornnikov, 60, was the first Russian military operation commander in the country after Vladimir Putin sent troops to support President Bashar al-Assad’s government in September 2015, CNN reported. Russia provided air cover to support Assad’s ground forces and helped reverse the war in Syria in his favor.

White House spokesman Dornikov accused Russia’s new commander for the war in Ukraine of being responsible for “crimes in Syria.”

In the case of Ukraine, he said, the United States will continue to work with the authorities to ensure that Ukraine has the weapons and assistance needed to succeed on the battlefield.

A White House spokesman added: “This week, the National Security Adviser, the Secretary of State and the Joint Chiefs of Staff had a two-hour meeting with their Ukrainian counterparts to find out exactly what the Ukrainians want.” He added: “We are cooperating with our allies and partners, such as with Slovenia, which provided Ukraine with the S-300 missile system.”

Saki also described as “interesting” the Kremlin’s statement that its forces in Ukraine had suffered significant casualties.

“This (Kremlin statement) was important, and it shows the courage of the Ukrainian leaders,” he said.

Russia’s ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, has said that Moscow is looking to end the war in Ukraine in the near future.

“Russia is making every effort to end the conflict quickly through negotiations, to restore peace in Donbas and to return all Ukrainians to a peaceful life,” Antonov told Newsweek Saturday.

According to IRNA, Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 21, 2022 (March 2, 1400) criticized the West’s indifference to Moscow’s security concerns, recognizing the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics in the Donbas region.

Three days later, on Thursday, February 24, 1400, Putin launched a so-called “special operation” against Ukraine, shifting tense Moscow-Kiev relations to a military confrontation. Conflicts in Ukraine and reactions to Russia’s action continue.
