Who made the car more expensive? / Lottery removed?

According to Tejarat News, Iran Khodro and Saipa today increased the prices of their products by an average of 18%.

It is reported that the automakers are not going to have a lottery for their products next year.

How did the car become expensive?

Apparently, the decision was made not at the weekly meeting of the Market Regulation Headquarters, but at another extraordinary meeting yesterday.

The name of the car is not seen in the detailed news that was published about the decisions of the headquarters in today’s meeting.

From the morning the speculations were that if there was any talk about it, it was formality.

The goal was to reform pricing

Meanwhile, Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Seyed Reza Fatemi Amin on the sidelines of today’s meeting Said The headquarters sought to reform pricing and opposed some of the automakers’ proposed price increases.

He added that in the end it was decided to set the pricing according to the previous criteria of the Competition Council, ie a six-month increase based on inflation.

Why did the price increase stop?

If prices were to rise by 18% in the end, why did they oppose it last month?

“Last month, the president’s order to cancel the increase in car prices was because he insisted that pricing should be principled,” said Fatemi Amin.

He added: “Careful investigations were carried out and we even ruled out cases where the price increase was out of the rules.”

According to Minister Samat, the lack of price reform over the past nine months had reduced liquidity in the automotive industry.

Fatemi Amin added that the goal of the market regulation headquarters was to bring the cost of the car closer to the real price in order to affect the market prices as well.

According to him, those who have already registered will receive the car at the price of the day of delivery.

The lottery is eliminated

Fatemi ‌ Amin promised the car manufacturers to accompany the people and said that if necessary, they would offer the car to the people by leasing and discounting so that the increase in the price of the customers would not bother them.

But perhaps one of the most important parts of the minister’s career is the elimination of lotteries in car sales plans.

“From next year, we will definitely not have a lottery, and with the planning done, the gap between the factory price and the market will be reduced,” he said.
