Why is Minister Samat against importing cars?

According to Tejarat News, the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, Seyed Reza Fatemi Amin, stated in a symposium with the heads of the country’s chambers of commerce and exporters: The transition was too long so these restrictions will be lifted by the end of the year.

Referring to today’s decree of the government’s economic headquarters, he said: “In this decree, an attempt has been made to remove the country’s export and import restrictions.”

Fatemi Amin also said: “Considering this year, there has been inflation above 25% in the country for 4 years, which means that many of the country’s products do not have domestic demand.”

He added: “In this situation, foreign demand for domestic goods must be created, that is, products must exceed the needs of the domestic market, to be able to move the country’s export markets.”

Minister Samat emphasizes 40% increase in non-oil exports

The Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade said: “By the end of this year, we should be able to increase the country’s non-oil exports by 40%.”

Fatemi Amin in a sympathetic meeting with the heads of the country’s chambers of commerce and exporters, stating that we should diversify our imports and increase exports, added: “In terms of exporting the right goods, we are ranked 100th in the world and should reach 40th.”

He added: “Non-oil exports are much more important this year than in previous years, because oil exports have decreased, so regulating the country’s trade balance is more in the hands of non-oil exporters than in oil.”

Fatemi Amin continued: “In recent years, when we had high inflation, the purchasing power of the people has decreased. We have to start the economy train with the export locomotive. Have.

“What matters is not only the balance of dollars and dollars in exports,” he said. “What we export is also important.” It does not matter when the export of petrochemicals is raw materials. In fact, our exports are like those with low labor and high resources.

Minister Samat said: “There is a discussion about ranking, we should not pay attention to the export price, but we should see what and to which country we export.” Therefore, next year, we will determine the sample exporter based on the improvement of jobs, water and mines, that is, we want to know what goods it has exported to which country.

Fatemi Amin said: “In 1997, we entered a currency emergency due to oil sanctions, which we thought would last a year, but this was not the case and this transition period was long. We and exporters should try to facilitate the fulfillment of foreign exchange obligations.”

He added: “In the regulation sector, we have to set rules so that both countries that trade are profitable. Of course, clauses were approved in 1997, which I oppose.”

Minister Samat continued by stating that there is very good coordination in the government: “Wherever we have an embassy, there should be an economic advisor and this is what we will do.”

Fatemi Amin added: “When we say that our priority is regulation, supervision and facilitation, export plans should also be written based on exporters.”

“We have to prepare a one-month plan with the exporters by mid-November at the latest, so that the exporters can inform us of the requirements and any part of the products we want to supply,” he said.

Fatemi Amin added: “Exporters must submit their goals and plans within the next month.” This ensures that our program is not for ourselves and that exporters should pay attention to it.

If the import of cars becomes legal, we are obliged to implement it

The Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade said: “If the car import plan eventually becomes law, we will be obliged to implement it.”

Fatemi Amin on the sidelines of a symposium with the heads of chambers of commerce and a group of exporters in front of reporters in response to the question of what is the reaction of the Ministry of Silence to the car import plan? He added: “The discussion of law is a separate discussion and the discussion of economic logic is another discussion.” Of course, whatever is passed in the form of a law, we will implement it, but my personal opinion and the official opinion of the Ministry of Silence is not to import in the current situation of the country.

Minister Samat added: “But my expert opinion as an official in the field of industry and of course the official opinion of the Ministry of Silence is that imports and exports are the flow of economic life of any country and as we export we must import but this process must be smart .

He continued: “Therefore, when the country’s trade balance is appropriate, I will not oppose the import of cars, and I believe that part of the market should be supplied with foreign cars in order to see improvement in competition, price and quality.”

Fatemi Amin said: “In the current situation where foreign exchange resources are limited, if these resources are spent on car imports, it will lead to an increase in the exchange rate and high prices for all people.”

He added: “My personal opinion and the official opinion of the Ministry of Silence is that we should not make a decision during the transition period that one part will improve in our opinion and many other parts will suffer.”
