Widespread fire in a Kuwaiti refinery



The National Oil Company of Kuwait announced that a fire had broken out in the oil desulfurization unit at the Al-Ahmadi port refinery, but its exports were not affected by the fire, IRNA reported Monday, quoting the Kuwaiti state news agency Kuna. .

Kuwait Petrochemical Company announced on its Twitter page that the fire broke out in the sulfur separation section of the Bandar Al-Ahmadi oil refinery and no one was injured in the incident.

The petrochemical company noted that refinery operations and local exports and marketing were not affected by the fire.

Kuwaiti sources have not yet released a report on the cause of the fire.

According to the latest OPEC quota, Kuwait exports 2.5 million barrels of oil per day and is one of the major oil exporters in the Middle East.
