Writers’ strike made the production of Robert De Niro’s first series impossible!

Netflix’s “Zero Day” series, which was supposed to be Robert De Niro’s first TV series experience, is currently not possible due to the writers’ strike.

Charso Press: According to Variety, the production of the Netflix series “Zero Day”, which is considered to be the first appearance of Robert De Niro in a TV series, has been stopped.

The production of this series had just started in New York, but now with the writers’ strike, it is not possible to continue the work. No time has been announced to resume production.

Netflix, a major producer and one of eight companies that did not agree to the writers’ requests, declined to comment on the show’s suspension.

Day Zero is built around the question of how do we find the truth in a world of crisis seemingly governed by forces beyond our control? And in an age full of conspiracy theories, how much of these forces are the result of our own doings or maybe even our own imaginations?

Lizzy Kaplan, Jesse Plemons, Joan Allen and Connie Britton are the other actors who were announced in April to be in front of the camera with De Niro in the series.

Eric Newman, Noah Oppenheim, and Michael S. Pulitzer Prize winner Schmidt is the creator of this collection, and Newman and Oppenheim are also in charge of writing it. In addition to acting, De Niro is also the executive producer of the series. Leslie Linka Glatter is the director and one of the other executive producers.

It was said that this series will be produced in 6 one-hour episodes and it was expected to be streamed in 2024.

Meanwhile, Newman and his Grand Electric production company currently have a general contract with Netflix.

It’s the latest TV show to be hit by continuing troubles in Hollywood. The Writers Guild (WGA) has been on strike since the beginning of May while not reaching an agreement on a new contract with the United Film and Television Producers Association.
