According to this report, during this ceremony, Darabi said: Our ancestors used to celebrate Yalda throughout history as old as Nowruz, and some believe that a date cannot be set for Yalda. Because this ritual has been preserved and entrusted to us from generation to generation.
Referring to Yalda’s world registration, which was recently held, he added: Every work that becomes a world record belongs to all of humanity, and all the people of the world honor and celebrate that occasion. In addition to Iran, 12 other countries participated in this registration. This year, at the 17th meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO, Yalda was registered as a world record along with Oud or Barbat, Turkmen embroidery and silk weaving.
The deputy of the country’s cultural heritage stated that with the registration of these four works, the number of intangible works in Iran’s world registry increased from 17 to 21, and continued: Although the goal of registering intangible works is not to compete, but to support and promote that work, we managed to rise one rank in the world. and reach the sixth rank in the world.
Referring to the importance of registering these works in a year when Iran did not have a quota for the international registration of intangible works, he added: This event was a great success for the country.
Darabi mentioned the negotiations with the ambassadors of different countries before the global registration of Yalda and said: “In order to get broad support and consensus for the registration of this work with the highest vote, I had talks with various representatives and they gave a speech in support of the registration of this work.”
