In an interview with Mehr reporter, Akbar Fallah said about Kamran Qasimpour’s ambiguous situation after finishing third in the Zagreb tournament: Everyone has become an expert on Kamran Qasimpour and they are commenting on him, which I don’t think is the right thing at all. He himself is tired of so many opinions about his situation, when it is not related to anyone. He is the holder of two gold medals in the world and knows his own merits better than anyone. If someone wants to talk about Kamran, I believe that his coach, the provincial board and the veterans of his city should comment on it.
He said: These people definitely know Salah Kamran better than anyone else. I now think it might be to his advantage if he wrestles at 92kg, but that’s just my personal opinion and it might not be right. And even stating it is not the right thing to do. Anyway, Kamran and his coach can make decisions about his weight better than anyone else, and it is better for me and other wrestling experts not to interfere in his work.
Azad’s wrestling coach said about Azarpira’s performance and Snyder’s defeat in the Zagreb tournament: Azarpira is a talented and physically fit wrestler who will have a very bright future. I already said that although he postponed his championship in the world and could have a world medal in his career this year, in the future he will definitely be one of Iran’s champions in the world and in the Olympics.
Fallah also pointed to Yunus Emami’s performance and his lack of motivation to wrestle and said: I don’t accept that Younus wrestles without motivation. He has two world medals in his career and just a few months ago he won a gold medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games. So this wrestler is not unmotivated at all. Besides, I believe that two world medals are not enough for him and he should have won at least three to four world medals.
The freestyle coach continued: Younes Emami is a very good wrestler, but he has many problems in his life that need attention. He has talked many times about his problems that he does not have a job. These issues affect his performance. Any athlete who faces neglect will lose his motivation. However, even though Yunus has problems such as not having a job, he does his best to get a good result. But the athlete needs attention, his abilities are enough to win the Olympic championship, but we should not ignore him.
Fallah said about the conditions of freestyle wrestling and winning a medal in the Olympics: Most of the wrestlers who are part of the national team are world and Olympic title holders, these wrestlers definitely need special support and attention in order to repeat their honors again. I think that winning three medals in the Olympics by freestyle wrestlers is certain, of course, we should consider winning a gold medal in the weight of 125 kg with the presence of a wrestler like Amir Hossein Zare. Other wrestlers like Rahman Amouzad, Younis Emami and Hassan Yazdani also have a chance to win a medal.
