Youth volleyball program announced for preparatory matches / Turkey and Italy destinations for law students

According to Fars News Agency, the convoy of the Iranian national boys’ volleyball team will leave Tehran for Rome with 16 players at 3:00 AM on Monday, April 12, via Imam Khomeini Airport. The junior national team will first leave for Istanbul and after a three-hour stop at the airport, will leave for Rome, the capital of Italy. The national boys’ youth volleyball team will travel by bus from Rome Airport to Campabasso in southern Italy, three hours away.

The joint camp with the Italian national youth volleyball team and the holding of three preparatory and friendly matches with this team in the city of Campabasso is the first program of the students of Mohammad Vakili, the head coach of the Iranian national youth team in Italy, which will be held from 23 to 25 April. On Friday, April 16th, the students of Vakili will leave for Pordenone, Italy, to participate in the Cronacia Cup.

The Kornakia Cup, with a 40-year history of hosting world-class tournaments, hosts volleyball players under the age of 17 and 19 each year, and many of the sport’s most famous current players have a history of participating in the World Cup.

Iran’s national boys and girls volleyball teams, which are facing the 2022 Asian Championships, will participate in the 2022 Italian Kornakia Cup with the aim of holding an overseas camp and holding preparatory matches. The tournament starts on Saturday, April 27 and will last for three days in Pordenone, Italy.

Students of Mohammad Vakili, the head coach of the Iranian national boys ‘youth team, will also start in the group stage of the Kornakia Cup under-19 boys’ competition, which will be held with the participation of 12 teams, in the fourth group. The teams of Prielp and Trentino from Italy are the opponents of the group stage of the national boys’ youth volleyball team.

The group stage and the first play-off of the Italian Cronacia Cup will be followed on Saturday and Sunday, April 17 and 18, and the semi-finals and final stages of this competition will be held on Monday, April 29.

* Overseas camp in Turkey

The Iranian national youth volleyball team will leave Purdenone, Italy, for Ankara, Turkey on Wednesday, April 20, to set up its second overseas camp in the city. Two players from Tehran will also travel to Ankara to join the national youth team camp.

The team will hold five friendly and preparatory matches with the youth team of the Agricultural Bank of Turkey until Tuesday, May 26, in addition to following their training sessions, and then will leave for Tehran to resume their training after a few days of rest to qualify for the Asian Championships. The 14th Asian Boys Under 18 Volleyball Championship will be hosted by Iran in Isfahan from August 15 to 15. 13 teams are participating in these competitions and the students of Mohammad Vakili, the head coach of the Iranian youth team, are in the same group with the Australian and Qatari teams.
