The recent heat wave in Zabul comes at a time when this city spent a cold winter just a few months ago and experienced its third severe frost in the last 60 years.

According to the announcement of the Meteorological Organization, in December of last year, the minimum air temperature in Zabul reached minus 11.2 degrees Celsius, which was the most severe frost in this city in the last 60 years. This temperature was only a few tenths of a degree away from the record for the hottest day since the establishment of the meteorological station in this city.

Previously, the coldest temperature recorded by Zabul Meteorological Station was in 1350, when the thermometer of this station dropped to -12 degrees Celsius.

Last night, in addition to Zabul, some other new temperature records were also recorded in the southeast. Zahak, about 27 kilometers from Zabul, recorded a temperature of 50.6 degrees Celsius for the first time in the last 30 years.

Before and since the establishment of the meteorological station in Zahak, the air temperature had never reached 50 degrees Celsius, and the highest temperature recorded there was 49 degrees.

In Zahedan, about 200 km away from Zabul, the hottest spring day of this city in more than 60 years was recorded.

Last night, the maximum air temperature in Zahedan reached 43.1 degrees Celsius, which is the hottest spring day of this city in more than 60 years, and it was only three tenths of a degree away from the historical record of the hottest day of this city in summer.
