Zelensky: Specify Ukraine’s task for joining the European Union

According to Fars News Agency’s International Group, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelinsky on Sunday called for the country to clarify its bid to join the European Union.

In an interview with a Dutch media outlet, he said that Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte should clarify whether Ukraine has a future in the European Union.

“I told him very openly, ‘If you think we have no place in the union, you have to say it clearly,'” Zelensky said.

“You are really helping us and I am very grateful for that, but as far as the EU is concerned, you are silent about everything we wanted to hear.”

The remarks come as criticism of Ukraine’s president over NATO membership and refusal to resolve the Donbas conflict is mounting.

Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said in a statement: “If Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is forced to pledge not to join NATO or to give a high degree of independence to the two territories in the east of the country, it is likely to prevent clashes in “Ukraine was possible.”

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the Donbas Donetsk and Luhansk republics to launch military operations in the European country, calling for the help of the Donbas Donetsk and Luhansk republics to defend themselves against attacks. Kiev’s disarmament was announced, but Western countries responded to Moscow from the outset by tightening sanctions and supplying arms to Ukraine.

From the very beginning of its military operation in Ukraine, Russia has asked Kiev officials to formally declare their neutrality and withdraw their application for NATO membership.

End of message.
