ایرانIran Gold Medal for Museum Invention.

Following the Iranian team winning a gold medal at the Swiss International Inventions Competition (for inventors of the IFIA World Federation), the Armenian Museum in Tehran was selected as a pilot for this invention. According to ISNA, Mahmoud Reza Gorji, Salar Basiri and Marjan Haji Rahimi, members of the Iranian team They were able to win a gold medal for Iran among 800 groups of participants from different countries in the Swiss International Invention Competition by building a device for monitoring and protecting museum objects and manuscripts in order to make museums smarter.

Marjan Haji Rahimi explained about this invention: We succeeded in building a device that monitors and controls the storage conditions of museum objects and manuscripts in terms of temperature, light, sound, heat, humidity and pests, and can even repel some of these items. ; The invention won a gold medal at the Swiss International Virtual Competition in Geneva in July.

Explaining that each museum needs a suitable device for monitoring and control according to its space and environment, he added: “This device is to be built with a personal budget and as a pilot for the Armenian Museum.”

Mahmoud Reza Gorji, a representative of the inventors’ team, explained at a meeting held at the ICOM Iran building: “By building this device, we tried to reduce the problems of museums, not to add anything to it, and we hope to take a small step in making the country’s museums smarter.”

Seyed Ahmad Mohit Tabatabai, Chairman of the National Committees of Iranian Museums (ICOM), also said: “In the last two years, the world’s museums have faced many problems due to the spread of the corona, but there were museums that used modern technologies in cyberspace and were able to sustain themselves.” One of these museums is the Armenian Museum in Tehran.

Alice Shahmoradian, the director of the Armenian Museum in Tehran, referring to the activities of this museum, said: “We at the Armenian Museum do our best to keep the objects that have been entrusted to us from the past in the best conditions; In the museum, for example, we have 600-year-old manuscripts that are important to us in terms of storage, and on the other hand, by making this device, we can get closer to our goal, which is to protect museum objects.

Alireza Gholinejad, deputy director of technology and application at the Cultural Heritage and Tourism Research Institute, also expressed satisfaction with the completion of the project, saying: “So far, many groups have done so, but all of those projects have been abandoned.” We are very happy that a group was able to raise this device in the global dimension in addition to making it.

He said: “Analyzing and monitoring the environment for the preservation of museum objects and what arrangement should be done, is one of the important points that have been seen in this plan.” It is also through control that the museum can be brought to a more desirable state.

The installation of the invented device for monitoring and protection of museum objects and manuscripts will begin next week at the Armenian Museum in Tehran.
