Referring to the policies of the government in the province, Ahmed Hamzezadeh, Director General of East Azerbaijan Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, added: Tourism education in both general and specialized sectors, as well as the development of the province’s infrastructure, are among the main policies of the province.

Stating that East Azerbaijan has 78 hotels with 13 thousand beds, he added: 100 active projects with an investment amount of 26 thousand billion tomans are being built in the province.

The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of East Azarbaijan stated: 36 hotels are under construction, which will add 6,000 beds to the province’s accommodation capacity in three years.

Referring to the formation of a special investment council in the province, he announced the preparation of investment packages.

He also said: In the Iranian hotelier community, we are ready to give special discounts to the travel service offices that bring tourists into the country, and the amount of the discounts will be determined based on the signing of the memorandum.

Hamzezadeh continued: In the current situation of the country, where we have problems with incoming tours, serious planning should be done on domestic tours.

The head of Iran’s hoteliers association also mentioned the insular behavior of organizations related to tourism as another problem in this field and emphasized the support of provincial officials.
