Miyadafar stated: Every year, the Arbaeen headquarters has 17 specialized committees, one of which is the health and treatment committee, under the responsibility of the Ministry of Health, its executive role and intra-organizational coordinator has been assigned to the country’s emergency organization, providing health and treatment services to Pilgrims are responsible for this ceremony.

He said: In the Shalamcheh, Chezabeh and Ilam borders, which are normally used for Arbaeen ceremonies, as well as in the Khosravi border centered on the Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences, on the Tamrchin border centered on the West Azarbaijan University of Medical Sciences, on the Bashmaq border. With Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences as the center, and Zahedan University of Medical Sciences on the borders of Mirjaveh and Rimdan, all kinds of health and treatment services are provided to pilgrims.

Referring to the special conditions of the participants, who are of different age groups, with different cultures and nationalities, and who choose the borders of Iran to attend Karbala and the Arbaeen ceremony, the head of the country’s emergency department added: Iran’s health system is designed to maintain the health of everyone. Pointing out that every year, the number of participants in the Arbaeen ceremony increases, he noted: This year, after the corona virus restrictions, the number of pilgrims at the Ilam border was about 60 to 65 percent, and the number of pilgrims was traveling back and forth from the border. Ilam, it was estimated between 4 and 5.4 million people and despite the recommendations of the authorities not to allow pregnant mothers, children, the elderly and people with dialysis problems to participate in this grand event, we saw about 400 pregnant mothers visit the country’s emergency centers at the borders. .

Miyadafar, pointing out that the 8 universities of medical sciences in the border provinces are the executive arms of the country’s emergency organization, which provide the necessary considerations for the centralized management of the Arbaeen gathering by assessing the risk and extracting the needs, to hold the first specialized meeting “lesson learned” health system in the management of mass gatherings with an emphasis on Arbaeen Hosseini (PBUH) ceremony and appreciated the presence of the governors of these regions and their deputies in this specialized meeting.

He added: We will hold a specialized meeting “Lessons learned by the health system in managing mass gatherings with an emphasis on Arbaeen Hosseini (PBUH) ceremony” and in interaction with the officials of the 5 countries of Iraq, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Pakistan and Afghanistan, which have the largest number of pilgrims. through the borders of our country, we are trying to hold this specialized meeting internationally in the coming years.

Miyadafar expressed his hope that with the presence of students from the field of health in accidents and disasters of the University of Rehabilitation Sciences and Social Health and experts and trustees from the relevant organizations in this one-day meeting, we will see good developments in the management of mass gatherings and Arbaeen Hosseini (PBUH) ceremonies. .
