14 Mexican soldiers arrested by US Border Patrol


According to Fars News Agency’s International Group, 14 Mexican soldiers were detained for several hours in Texas by US Customs and Border Protection agents after crossing the El Paso area.

According to the website «HillThe car of the Mexican soldiers entered the United States at midnight local time on Saturday, Reuters reported, citing the US news agency Reuters. Mexican soldiers, of course, said they did not notice crossing the border. The incident was reported to the Mexican army.

Due to this incident, the US border with Mexico was closed for 2 hours. One witness said Mexican soldiers were handcuffed and kicked out. All Mexican soldiers and their equipment were reportedly returned to Mexico before 5 a.m. Sunday local time.

The U.S.-Mexico border has recently been disrupted by a massive influx of Haitian immigrants moving across the border to the United States.

Pictures and videos of US border guards riding horses and flogging immigrants sparked international outcry. The US Department of Homeland Security has announced that it has launched an investigation into the use of whips against Haitian asylum seekers.

The US Special Representative for Haiti, Daniel Foote, has resigned in recent days in protest of US President Joe Biden’s policy toward Haiti, in particular the expulsion of a group of Haitian refugees from the United States. The asylum seekers crossed the Rio Grande River on the Mexican border and entered the state of Texas. About 13,000 asylum seekers have gathered under a bridge near Del Rio, Texas.

Haiti witnessed a deadly earthquake in August that killed and injured thousands. Subsequently, large numbers of Mexicans moved to Texas via Mexico, but the US government refused to accept them.

In recent days, the release of images at the Del Rio camp has sparked widespread protests against the Biden government. Joe Biden is accused of not having a coherent immigration policy.
