150 cities do not have forensic medicine

According to the Fars news agency’s judicial group, Abbas Masjedi, referring to the lack of medical staff in the forensic organization, said: “Currently, 150 cities in the country have judicial centers, but they do not have forensic medicine.”

Masjidi added: In many cities, the centers are operated by a single doctor, who do not have a replacement force, and in many densely populated cities, the volume of existing cases is more than 3 times the defined work standards.

Referring to the problems of working in forensic medicine, he said: no client is happy and in a good mental state when they come to us; because he has either lost his loved one, or is injured in an accident or a fight; Therefore, while receiving the service, the sadness is also transferred to the doctors and other colleagues.

The head of the Forensic Medicine Organization added: This lack of attractiveness caused that even in the recruitment calls that we announced, not enough applicants declared their readiness and we could not recruit according to the licenses we had.

He said: With the agreement of the Ministry of Health and Treatment, 69 quotas of medical students were considered for 69 cities, so that these people, after finishing their medical education, would work and serve in underprivileged and deprived cities based on their commitment.
