159 billion sales of the 15th auction in Tehran


According to the visual correspondent of Fars News Agency, the 15th Tehran Auction for Modern Iranian Art was held last evening (Friday, December 15, 1400) in person at the Parsian Azadi Hotel and reached 158 billion and 890 million Tomans. The auction was held in the last 2 years due to the limited number of coronavirus epidemics.

In the 15th auction of Tehran, 38 billion works were hammered, while in the 14th auction of Tehran, which was held in August of this year, it had 8 billion works and its total sales were 42 billion.

In the 15th Tehran auction, performed by Hossein Pakdel, 80 works by 60 artists were presented, and the Tehran auction began with a 120 million Toman work by Inayatullah Nazari Nouri. After that, Jabbari’s 850 million Toman painting was hammered.

Then, Nasrullah Afjeh’s calligraphy, whose base price was 850 million Tomans, was hammered 1 billion and 300 million Tomans to become the first billion-dollar work of the 15th auction. He also had another untitled work that sold for 1 billion and 200 million tomans.

But the most expensive billion-dollar work in the Tehran auction was the bronze statue of “Sitting Poet” by Parviz Tanavoli, which was priced at 12 to 14 billion tomans and sold for 14 billion and 600 million tomans.

But the biggest price jump was related to the mirror work of Munir Shahroudi Farmanfarmayian, whose price was estimated at 8 to 9 billion Tomans, but in the end 13 billion Tomans was hammered! This late artist had another work that sold for 2 billion and 600 million tomans.

Sohrab Sepehri was also present at the Tehran auction with 2 works, the more expensive of which was sold for 11 billion and 800 million Tomans and the cheaper of which was sold for 6 billion Tomans.

Hossein Zandaroudi was also present at the auction with 2 works, the cheaper one and a half billion Tomans and the more expensive one called “La + La + Sar” were hammered 11 billion Tomans.

The work was titled Bahman Mohasses with a base price of 5 billion tomans, 5 billion and 600 million tomans was sold. Cyrus’s painting of glassmakers also sold for 5 billion tomans. The works of Manouchehr Yektaei and Reza Derakhshani were sold for 3 billion and 800 million Tomans each. Sadegh Tabrizi’s works were also sold at prices of 2 billion, 1 billion and 800 million Tomans.

Other billion-dollar works of this auction period include the works of Jazeh Tabatabai, Tavakol Ismaili (Mash Ismail), Jafar Rouhbakhsh, Parviz Kalantari, Mohsen Vaziri-Moghaddam, Masoud Arabshahi, Abolghasem Saeedi, Hossein Kazemi, Bahman Dadkhah, Mohammad Ali Targhijajah, Iraj Eskandari , Qasem Hajizadeh and Nasser Assar pointed out.

Hannibal Al-Khas “Ashura” was the last work of the 15th auction in Tehran, which was hammered 400 million Tomans.
