30% increase in payment to plan doctors in villages

According to Fars News Agency’s health reporter, Hossein Farshidi said in the “Rozeneh” radio talk show about organizing a reduction in people’s out-of-pocket payments with the family doctor’s plan: the health system in villages includes health centers and comprehensive health centers and specialized services in hospitals.

He added: People who are referred to comprehensive health centers from the health center mean that they followed the family medical system, and those who are included in this system will pay about 5% for hospitalization.

The Deputy Minister of Health of the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education of the country stated that the same program is going to be implemented in cities with more than 20,000 people.

This responsible official added: In this program, every 1,500 people are connected to a health care provider, and the caregivers form a team including two caregivers and a doctor, which can cover 30,000 people.

Farshidi pointed out that in this program, caregivers can actively follow up and provide services needed by their patients, either by phone or in person, and said: the services provided in the referral system are standard, and the patients of this system are covered by national health insurance. Of course, the payment fee is currently 5% and we hope to reduce this fee.

In response to the question of how many doctors are needed for the implementation of this program, he said: We provide most of the doctors for this program from doctors of the plan. About 6 to 7 thousand doctors will enter this program in the villages, of course, due to the increase of graduates, the number of entries will increase in the future.

The Deputy Health Minister of the Ministry of Health said about the provision of housing and comfort facilities for doctors in rural areas and added: Payment to doctors in villages will be 25 to 30 percent higher than in cities, and in cities, there are two new components, including the number of referring patients and special tasks. Pointing out that all the cities of our country are equipped with CT scan and MRI, Farshidi said: Those who refer to a specialist through the referral system do not need to pay additional fees and the cost of these services will be calculated based on the government tariff and with health insurance.
