According to Mehr reporter, Qobad Mohammadi said at noon on Wednesday at the conference on population prospects and childbearing in Iran, which was held in the amphitheater hall of Imam Reza Hospital (PBUH) in the presence of the head of the Department of Family and Youth Support of the Ministry of Health. The population in the country has raised its voice and there is a need to think about solving this danger before it is too late.

He added: If basic action is not taken in this field in the next seven years, the opportunity will be lost and the population will age and many crises will spread in the country in the coming years.

The president of Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences stated: There are various factors involved in the discussion of population increase or decrease, among which the most important are cultural and social factors, which requires the relevant institutions to act in this field and everyone should be determined in this field. let’s try

Mohammadi stated: This conference was organized with the aim of identifying various factors affecting the population growth rate and planning to solve them so that we can eliminate the great danger that threatens the future of the country.

He continued: According to research, cultural and social issues are at the top of population reduction factors, and other issues, including economic and health issues, also play a role.

The head of the Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences said: Marriage at an advanced age and increasing divorce play an important role in reducing the population growth rate, and these cases are directly related to social and cultural issues.

Mohammadi added: Regarding the mortality of pregnant mothers, the index in Kermanshah province is 16 per 100,000 people, which increased during the Corona period and reached about 32 people.

He pointed out that good programs such as supplemental assistance and continuous monitoring of pregnant mothers are on the agenda to reduce this index even more, and in addition, the treatment of pregnant mothers is being done for free.

The head of Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences stated: So far, 3,224 infertile couples have been identified in Kermanshah province, and these couples should be directed to infertility treatment centers so that we can treat these couples using the advances made in this field. .

Mohammadi added: Currently, the infertility treatment center is active in Motazadi Hospital in Kermanshah, which we are developing, and the construction of a second center in this hospital with an area of ​​1,200 square meters is on the agenda.

He continued: 12% of infertile couples have primary infertility and 15% of them have secondary infertility, and all our efforts are to help these couples have children by developing infertility treatment centers.

The head of Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences stated: The infant mortality rate is 5.3 per 100,000 babies, and we plan to improve this rate by setting up more beds for newborns and providing more care.

Mohammadi said: Currently, 76 special beds for newborns are active in Dr. Mohammad Kermanshahi Hospital, 16 of which have been added this year, and the cost of setting up each bed is about 1.5 billion tomans, and within a year, 10 more beds will be added. The collection of beds in Imam Reza (AS) hospital will be added.

The president of Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences pointed out: Considering the abortion statistics in the province and the annual report of 2,500 abortions by couples, we need to create a culture in this field so that couples do not have abortions.
