In a conversation with Mehr reporter, Abbas Khatibi said about the latest status of the Chabahar-Zahedan railway: This railway is one of the country’s major railway projects, which is considered to complete the eastern part of the north-south rail corridor. It will fully cover the current capacity of Chabahar port, part of which remains unused.
Stating that good steps have been taken regarding the completion of the Chabahar-Zahedan railway, he said: 155 kilometers of this route, including the section from Zahedan to Khash, is almost completed and this area will be put into operation in the next two months.
The vice president of railway development and construction of the country’s transport infrastructure construction and development company continued: In railway infrastructure projects, the infrastructure section is completed first, and then we proceed to the paving of other parts. But due to the importance of this railway route, efforts are being made to complete the Khash-Zahedan section in terms of infrastructure and pavement and put it into operation. Of course, in other parts, the process of underlaying and paving is going on at the same time.
According to Khatibi, 74% of the infrastructure project has progressed, and this project has generally had 63% physical progress. Khatam Al Anbia construction site as the contractor is rapidly implementing this project.
The vice president of the construction and development company pointed to the allocation of one hundred million euros from the National Development Fund with the approval of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution in 2018 and stated: Last year, we received 200 million euros out of this 300 million euros. This year, they were supposed to allocate the remaining 100 million euros to this project.
Khatibi emphasized: With the follow-up carried out by the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, it was finally decided to hand over 50 million Euros of the National Development Fund to the Central Bank for the conversion of Rials, the payment of which was slightly delayed, but it is gradually being deposited into the account of the Ministry of Welfare. and we also receive it gradually.
He pointed out: Riyal cases are deposited in the form of credits of 30 to 50 billion tomans, which is against the volume of work that is being implemented and also the schedule of the program. tiny The end of 1402 was supposed to be a small number, but the project is still alive and running.

According to Khatibi, this project will rely more on domestic sources and less investment or foreign finance sources are considered. Because if we were to wait for foreign finance, the project would be prolonged, and on the other hand, with the increase in the exchange rate, the finished price would increase day by day.
Rasht-Caspian railway
The vice president of railway development and construction of the country’s transport infrastructure construction and development company said about the latest status of the Rasht-Caspian railway line in Gilan province: the infrastructure of this 35 km long railway line has been completed and the project is 70% progressed. Physically, it has both pavement and infrastructure, while 14 km of rails and 7 km of ballast have been laid.
He stated that this project has a severe lack of resources and clarified: In the approval of the provincial visit of the president to Gilan last year, resources were considered for this project, a part of which was injected into the project last year, but this year, a budget from this source was given to the project. Rasht-Caspian railway is not given. We hope that the Rasht-Caspian railway will be completed this year and an opening will be held in terms of credit allocation.
Khatibi added: Anzali Free Zone Organization had a quota of 45 billion tomans in this project, of which 40 billion tomans was given, but the completion of this project requires very high figures.
