90% of guilds and business owners pay less than 10 million tomans in taxes

Mehdi Mohadi Baknazar in an interview with the economic reporter of Fars news agency, pointing out that some MPs say on the one hand that the government should separate its current budget from oil and finance it with taxes, but on the other hand, there are endless tax exemptions in different sectors of the economy impose on the government, he stated: the main policy should be that the government should move in the direction of stable tax revenues and cut the umbilical cord of the government from oil revenues and other illusory revenues, and the more the tax system is strengthened, the more stable tax revenues for the government and also the process of tax collection and distribution should be fairer.

He said: Last year, the income tax of salary earners was about 12% of the total tax income, while business owners and guilds, although their share of GDP is 20-30%, but their share of tax income was only 5%.

The spokesperson of the Tax Affairs Organization stated: The requirement to establish tax justice is that each of the economic actors should be defined in their place. When we talk about guild tax, 50% of guild and business owners have declared zero tax. That means, practically, the tax organization does not receive any tax for their performance for one year.

Movahdi Baknazer said: When we say guild tax, we don’t mean to put pressure on someone who has a small shop with which he supports his family, but we say that those who have high incomes should pay taxes and everyone who is within the limits of the law There is an exemption, we do not charge him tax. Currently, about 90% of the owners of guilds and businesses pay less than 10 million Tomans in taxes for a year, while an ordinary employee, if he receives a monthly salary of 10 million Tomans, his annual tax is between 5 and 6 million Tomans per year.

He added: The tax system must move towards real taxation and we must observe tax justice in both receiving and distributing tax revenues, and some guilds that have astronomical incomes in the metropolises and especially in the upper cities must pay their fraudulent taxes and they who did not have that kind of income, according to the law, they can be exempted from paying taxes.

The spokesperson of the Tax Affairs Organization about whether tax exemptions will be regulated in the Seventh Development Plan Bill? He stated: In the seventh development plan bill, tax exemptions are organized, also in the bill to amend some articles of the law on direct taxes and total income tax, the discussion of organizing exemptions and preferential tax rates is followed up.

Movahdi Baknazar clarified: In 1400, about 306 thousand billion tomans of tax revenue was collected in the country, and there was almost 300 billion tomans of lost income from legal entities due to exemption; It means that we could not collect taxes from about 1300 thousand billion tomans of income of legal companies due to tax exemption and we had a non-profit of 300 thousand billion tomans due to the exemption of legal entities in that year.

What are the exemptions for legal entities? He said: In the form of articles 139, 143 and 145 of the tax law, various types of exemptions have been considered, and when we calculate it in total, it means that an income of 1300 thousand billion tomans of natural persons has been exempted from tax, which if the tax was collected, The amount of 300 thousand billion tomans, that is, the total amount of tax income of the same year was 1400.
