A butterfly that tells the story of women / Here the “breath” of the guests comes from a warm place!

Fars News Agency – Radio and Television Group: Muharram and Safro are generally suitable occasions for special production of television programs. As usual, the networks broadcast their suitable programs on TV these days. This year, Nasim Network decided to broadcast a special program that we have never seen on TV. A program that is for mothers and warms their souls. “Nafs” is the title of the program that has been sitting on Nasim TV since the beginning of Muharram and is supposed to be a guest house of the people until the end of the zero month. This program is produced by Meqdad Momennejad, directed by Mohammad Peyvandi and performed by Flora Sam, and is broadcast every night at around 9:30 AM on Nasim Network.

From interview to recording

Near sunset we reached a shed in the southwest of Tehran; The place where the Nafs program studio is located. When you enter the main hall of the building, there are several rooms next to each, each dedicated to a task. The make-up room, the subject room, the guest room and the editing room are all in the same hallway, respectively, and the agents are working in them.

Here, the observance of hygienic protocols comes first, and after disinfecting the hands and checking the mask, they are allowed to enter the main hall, where most of the windows are open.

About an hour later, they announced that the guests had arrived and that the recording would begin in another hour. The show has not started yet, and in Flora Sam’s makeup room, the host is getting to know the guests. It is a good thing that the presenter talks to the guests before the program and gets to know them. Now everyone entered the main hall where the butterfly-shaped decor was located and the recording of the program began.

“Butterfly” is a scene worthy of a woman-centered program

One of the most important parts of a program is its decor. In fact, the decor of the program represents that program. The decor, while appropriate to the content of the program, must also be impressive in order to attract the audience. The butterfly is a good symbol to introduce the mother. Butterfly decor, designed by Ali Mirzaei for this program. The wings of the butterfly are a metaphor for the mother and her loving hands, and the color pink is a symbol of motherly tenderness, which, along with other colors that accompany different situations, is associated with the story of women in the program and symbolizes the elegance and femininity of mother

** Flora Sam: The feminine centrality of “soul” made me participate in it

There is not much time until the beginning of the program. The agents are preparing the decor and directing the guests to sit on the prepared chairs. This is the best time for a short chat with Flora Sam. She is a successful female director who has attractive serials in her repertoire. He is now on the run.

** Ms. Sam airs the mother-centered “Nafs” program; Given the experience of performing on TV, what feature of this program persuaded you to participate in it as a presenter?

I had the experience of performing for a child many years ago. When Mr. Momennejad called me, I told him that this was not my profession and that I was not interested in doing it, but the biggest feature that made me accept the performance in “Nafs” was its feminine and maternal focus. A program that really feels like a vacancy on TV. We have never had a program that is so woman-centered. On the other hand, friends chose mothers as subjects who were simply the heroes of their own lives. These things made me accept this.

** How much did you use your previous experiences in performing “Nafs”?

We all tried not to perform in my “soul”; That is, as much as possible, I do not express myself as a performer, and there is more of an intimate conversation between the two mothers (me and the guest) in the program.

** You are a mother. How tangible are the behaviors and life stories of the mothers sitting in front of you?

The kindness of the guests who come to the program is understandable to me. They are not people who have done a great job. The fact that they have been able to support their own family and be influential in their own environment makes me see examples of their behavior in my mother or in my own treatment of my children; I am a mother and I have a mother. I think this is one of the benefits of the program that when the audience sees it, they can see examples of it in their own behavior or that of their mother.

After this short chat, Flora Sam returns to the stage to start the program. The studio lights go out and the assistant director forces everyone to shut up. With the command of one … two … three … the dialogue begins. Flora Sam speaks fluently to a middle-aged woman. Long distances from the studio prevent you from listening accurately. The dialogue goes on without interruption. Miqdad Momennejad, the producer of the program, is also traveling and controlling the situation.

In the meantime, there is an opportunity to have a conversation with him.

** Due to the centrality of the “soul” program, it is slightly different from other dialogue programs; Why did you consider it an appropriate program and broadcast it these days?

– “Nafs” program is not an appropriate program just because it is broadcast in the months of Muharram and Safar; This program can be broadcast throughout the year. This program is motherly centered and the guests talk about their hardships and heroism, and this month is also the month of hardship and heroism of Imam Hussein (AS), so it was a good month to broadcast this program. Basically, talk shows are aired during the months of Ramadan and Muharram because they are about people’s lives and are often bitter. I made a lot of special programs, especially on the One Sima network; But they were not like the “soul,” in other words, they were program-specific.

** In each program, parts of the guests’ lives are told that tell a general story of their lives; What is the purpose of broadcasting these episodes that are broadcast in the middle of the program?

– We tried to enter the layers of people’s lives. Our team enters that person’s life, verifies it, and makes a short documentary of that mother’s life so that we first get out of the conversation and then the viewer realizes that we have no lies to tell. It is important for us that the viewer is with us and believes in us.

** Can “Nafs” be considered as a model of programs that are produced with a specific focus in terms of the type of payment and the form that it has considered for itself?

– Yes, as you know, the focus of talk shows is on social issues, but most programs do not choose a single topic for the show; This is one of the problems that makes social programs less visible. They often show all kinds of people and problems in their programs, which I think bores the audience. True, this can be bypassed-but not unless you’re a techie who knows what he’s doing. In my opinion, if other social producers dedicate their programs to a specific topic, such as prisoners, entrepreneurs, etc., they will definitely be more successful and people will be re-attracted to dialogue-based programs.

Narrating the story in a tangible style

After the conversation with the producer of the program, we witnessed the story of the guest and Flora Sam’s conversation with her. The important thing was the feeling of comfort of the guest with the host. This was Sam’s smart choice because the femininity of the speaker and the listener went hand in hand.

Images and frames of this conversation were also recorded by the photographer and photographers. Peyvandi, the director of the program, watched the program in detail and reminded Flora Sam of the tips on the phone. Minutes passed and the program came to an end. The lights went out, the group said do not get tired of each other, the cameras went off and all the agents gradually left the studio. The recording of another episode of “Nafs” is over.
