A good reception is our main motivation for the need to continue the Khandestan Award

The scientific secretaries of the Khandestan National Comedy Playwriting Award, after reviewing the works received and announcing the winners, analyzed the status and level of the works received at the festival.

Theater News Base: “The fact is that the number of works sent to the prize secretariat is the initial mentality,” Jamshid Khanian, the scientific secretary of the playwriting section of the festival, was quoted as saying by the press office of the 3rd Khandestan International Playwriting Festival. It completely changed us in welcoming playwrights in the field of comedy, that is, we did not think we would encounter so many texts. There are 360 works in the composition section and 115 works in the adaptation section, which means that there is a potential capacity in our theatrical literature in a scattered and hidden form, and now with the possibility provided by the Khandestan Award to identify and compile it, it is to become a verb. This is our main motivation in the necessity of continuing the Khandestan Award. In fact, the most important event was our knowledge of the state of this type of drama in recent years, which reached both a statistically and analytically definable conclusion.

He went on to describe the quality of the works: satire, dramatic humor and comedy writing, while requiring knowledge of the principles and rules of this type of literature, also requires a kind of irony in the essence of the writer. This is an important feature of all comic book writers. To create comedy, in addition to knowing the rules, requires a double energy in creating situations, people and events. All of this, that is, the writers’ knowledge of the structure of drama and comedy-drama, and then having this humorous substance, determines the quality of the work. This is our experience in reading 475 works received by the Award Secretariat. A number of works received had difficulty processing a play text. Others had not been completely turned into a comedy text. And some of them created a comedy show by creating comedy situations and comedians. However, evaluations tell us that although we do not have a favorable situation in this type of literary-dramatic, but this tendency towards writing and producing comedy works and its reception is serious among our playwrights and is very promising.

Khanian continued to consider this good fortune of playwrights as a kind of product of the special conditions of today’s life and the prevailing social atmosphere: Of course, this tendency may be a natural and sarcastic response to the current situation in our world today, which is full of violence and nervousness. , Is war and bloodshed. Something that is a form of revealing human flaws that humor and comedy do in their own way.

The received works have different quality and scientific research levels

“The number and quality of the works submitted to this section has surprised the jury,” said the scientific secretary of the research section of the third Khandestan Comedy Playwriting Award.

“Unfortunately, our nation has a great weakness in the field of recording events, which can be seen as a historical weakness that has always shown itself more than any other field in the field of research,” said Leila Parvizi, director, lecturer and theater researcher. ; “For this reason, we did not expect that the audience in the research section of the Khandestan Festival would be well received.”

He added: “Fortunately, contrary to what we expected, there was a good reception and about 58 works were sent to the secretariat in this section, of which 41 works belong to the research, inquiry and empiricism section and 17 works belong to the Mehdi Momizan Award section.”

Babian emphasized that these works have different quality and scientific levels of research: “This diversity in the medium, especially in the award section of Master Mehdi Momizan, made the works very diverse and surprised the jury.”

According to Parvizi, the works in this section were evaluated and judged in two sections: article and image (film, visual arts and its sub-sections). Finally, three articles in the articles section and 4 works in the image section reached the final stage.

He also explained about the level of acceptance of researchers in this section: “In the section of articles, essays and empiricism, researchers were clearly more interested in writing articles than essays and empiricism, and the proof of this claim is the number of works received in this section. “In the award section of Master Mehdi Momizan, there was a great variety of works and the tendency was towards producing films, reports and interviews.”

The effect of the lack of resources about Mehdi Momizan on the received works was obvious

The judge of the Momizan section of the 3rd Khandestan Comedy Festival believes that because no serious effort has been made to publish the works of the late Mehdi Momizan, researchers and artists have not been able to write or present his works properly without the necessary resources.

“The works received in the side section of the Khandestan Festival, which dealt with Mehdi Momizan, had two main aspects: first, the efforts of writers and artists to present the work, and second, the high quality of a small number of works,” said Alireza Arvahi.

He considered one of the most important factors influencing these two aspects to be the lack of necessary resources about the works and personality of this Isfahani playwright and emphasized: “Unfortunately, to date – twenty years after the death of Mehdi Momizan – no serious effort has been made to publish his works. “And researchers and artists without the necessary resources could not write or present a work about his work as it should be.”

According to him, the lack or even lack of required resources caused some researchers and artists to simply turn to creative ideas and present works.

“Quantitatively, it was expected that a smaller number of works would be received, but researchers and artists showed interest in this subject and presented a variety of works that their efforts,” he said. it is admirable.”

He added: “These works can be classified into two parts: first, written works (including articles, essays, etc.) and second, visual and audio works (including films, podcasts, cartoons, typography, etc.) which are received works. “The first part was almost the same as the second part.”

Arvahi also considered addressing the works and character of Mehdi Momizan in Khandestan Festival as an important step to introduce this prolific Isfahani playwright and said: “Unfortunately, Isfahan theater and theater is often limited to one name and wherever there is talk of Isfahan theater and theater, Less mention is made of influential people such as Nasser Farahmand, Ali Mohammad Rajaei, Mohammad Mirza Rafiei, Mehdi Momizan and other important artists in this field. “It seems that in the coming years, with the efforts of researchers and art activists and related institutions, we will hear more and more about the neglected artists of Isfahan theater and theater.”

It is worth noting; The third Khandestan Comedy Playwriting Festival is being held by the Isfahan Theater’s specialized office (Art Hall) affiliated to the Isfahan Municipality Social Cultural and Sports Organization and the Isfahan Art Center. Will be held.
