According to the Mehr correspondent, Tayeb Jafari informed reporters on Sunday afternoon that there were 4,721 cooperatives in Zanjan province and said: “Unfortunately, a large percentage of cooperatives are not active in Zanjan.”
“Cooperatives play a very important role in the economy,” he said. “Strengthening cooperatives promotes the economy in society.”
Head of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare of Zanjan, stating that cooperatives are one of the influential sectors in national economic development, said: This province has 645 women’s cooperatives and 134 of these are active women’s cooperatives.
Jafari emphasized: 1,619 people are active in women’s cooperatives and inactive cooperatives in the province will be active this year.
He said that problematic cooperatives will be identified in the province this year, adding that the necessary management is underway in this regard.
The head of Zanjan Cooperative, Labor and Social Welfare, stating that encouraging cooperatives in the province to develop activities is an important approach, said: The 17th festival of top cooperatives is held with the aim of promoting the culture of cooperation and teamwork at the provincial and national levels.
