The representative of the people of Saqqez in the Islamic Council stated: There was no discussion about this issue in the floor of the Islamic Council or in the specialized commissions. There is no need for this at all, and the Islamic Council will not enter into these cases under these conditions.

In addition, one of the members of the Cultural Commission of the Islamic Council, in a conversation with Mehr about the recent actions of this commission in the field of hijab and modesty, said: It is the religious and legal duty of the Cultural Committee of the Majlis to always consider the issue of hijab and chastity in society. be Of course, this issue is not related to these days when sensitivity has been created in this field.

He continued: “For more than a year, we have held various meetings with various institutions, organizations, and groups, and there have been various discussions in the field of hijab and chastity.” The agencies have been requested to report on their actions regarding hijab and chastity based on their duties and responsibilities.

This member of the parliament stated: The majority of the meetings held by the Cultural Committee of the Islamic Council were for the fulfillment of the commission’s legal and regulatory duties. At the same time, there have been a number of obstacles that we talked about. There was no need to pass a law on hijab for us to pass a law. It was only an interdepartmental coordination between institutions and collections that the cultural commission held its meetings with this purpose to help the executive directors to form coordination.

He emphasized: The legislative process in the parliament is clear and every plan and bill must go through this process in order to be implemented. The legislative process is not such that a representative or a commission in the parliament wills and after two weeks the matter will be implemented. If there is a need for new legislation or revision of previous laws in the field of hijab and chastity, it has its own detailed discussion, this process is time-consuming and requires its own discussions and preparations.
